Salary and career paths blow. Healthcare is good for the slalom employee. It gets significantly worth when you add your spouse. Even worse when you add a child.
Most Rx drugs are covered. Cigna seems to do a good job there. OP maybe you can call them to see if they’ll cover a generic med or something? That’s worked for me.
Are the costs really that bad? Like for a wife and child is it more than $600 a month? Guess it depends on what plan you’re on too.
In my experience the healthcare plans at Slalom weren’t horrible, (I had Cigna). Was pretty similar cost to my old big 4 firm.
In general though the benefits were a notch down from big firms, but I found them to be adequate.
Salary increases and career paths were a different story....
Ah i see
Unsolicited advice.. consider getting fish medicine in Hyderabad india. It cures asthma permanently. DM me in case you are interested to hear more on that
I don’t know about others.. my asthma is cured. Some 200k people get that. It cost less than 10 cents. But it’s available only once in a year
OP check out goodrx.com
For asthma there are often different brands and even different active ingredients that ultimately have the same effect on the body. Sometimes the insurance company only covers one of them since they all satisfy the same use case. Try working with your doctor and insurance company to see if there is a preferred alternative drug. I had to do this with my asthma meds a few years back.
