Honestly it's time to change jobs if your work gives you that kind of anxiety. It's a culture problem more than a "work" problem.
I agree. I know people who developed long-term health issues from anxiety and overworking in our field. Unless you are working for the Avengers it just doesn't worth it.
First, turn off your slack pings. Second, close the app & work email app at the end of your day and don’t look at it again until the next work day.
you don’t need a long vacation. You just need to mange work notifications so you’re not on call 24/7. Be selfish about your personal time and you’ll feel more refreshed.
If you work for a manager/company that won’t let you do this, make sure you’re paid over the 75th percentile (ideally 90th) and look for another job.

the physical signs tell us first. I had constant headaches before I realised I needed a break. Did you end up leaving when you reached that stage?

Harsh but I get the sentiment. Work can easily take over if we let it.
you dont until you reach that point. now you know you need to pace yourself. take some days off and some occasional power naps. i like to jump on my personal laptop and play a quick round of video game for 15-20 mins. nice refresher and wakes you up better than coffee :) also the old lunch time motorcycle ride is really helpful. of course there's always a nooner :D
