Sorry to hear. List the job but when asked highlight the positive things you did and brought to the job and not focus on the negative. Things sometimes happen beyond our control. Talk about the challenges you faced and how you overcame them. Focus on what you can bring to the new company. Good luck.
Thanks for sharing. That's encouraging. I never imagined I would be in this position, and it feels really awful. I want to be able to move forward and not look back on that awful experience, but I'm afraid it will follow me if I have to keep talking about it. I don't want that at all!
This is really such a frustrating situation. I think for the most part, hiring managers contact your references, not necessarily the last place you worked. But it's always possible. I would just stand your ground, if you know you didn't do anything terrible then display that confidence if they bring up the company.
Have worked in management and hiring and if I am doing reference checks, I need to hear from more than one person about bad work habits. Sure, I listen to them, but if 5 people say "great worker" and one say "crap show", I am taking the word of 5 over 1. Also, if your company has a reputation of being toxic, people know that and factor it into the equation. I would list it so it shows work history and if asked why you left, be honest.
Bad employers get reputations. It’s about them, not you.
If the call center is as toxic as you say it is, chances are people in the industry know about it, and putting it on your resume shouldn’t hurt you. Crossing fingers for you, OP.
