I’m going to be honest here: I am not good at math. That being said, I have completed an internship in Auditing so I am extensively versed in excel. I don’t want to take the GMAT. I have a 3.6 GPA and I am bilingual. I am thinking of applying to 3 US MBA programs and 3 in Latin America. I want to enter consulting focused on trade. I have already applied to UC San Diego and the Thunderbird School of Global Management. Any advice?

Why is it so hard to move out of federal consulting and into the private sector?

Young professional with 3 years of retail banking experience, 1 year of claims experience, and now roughly 6 months into insurance sales. Between selling in retail banking environment and every month of insurance sales regularly pacing 200% or over to goal. I work in sales as a coordinator and do a bunch of paperwork with customers online. I LOVE PEOPLE but dread going to work everyday (wfh 3x a week) because the environment is toxic. Applying to roles within the same federal agency. I know you need one year within the probationary period, but can I apply to a higher GS level? For example, if I'm GS 9, receive a promotion to GS 11 at the end of probation, would i be able to apply to GS 13 roles if I'm qualified? Having tough time deciding between IB & Consulting. My thought process: I have a "better" background for IB (TAS/valuation) and with tech layoffs, this might push more potential would-be tech applications to pursue consulting (there by increased competition)? Additionally, you can do IB intern and full time consulting but not vice versa. I prefer consulting, but IB seems like the "safer" option? And if consulting does get hit hard, I would hopefully have a full time IB offer via internship.
