I'm in a totally different field (sales) but want to pivot to product management somehow. Is it a better idea to go back to school and start from scratch? Or should I pursue a bootcamp/certification thing in my own time? I've heard that it's not a ton of coding which would work for me, is that true? Thank you.

Better to get experience which is tougher to do while you're in school full-time. I would look into certifications first.
