I’m new to billable hours, I come from a litigation firm where we didn’t have any billing requirements. Now a few months in I’m being called out by my managing partner each month for not meeting the hours.
I set expectations that it will take me time to get the hang of things and I haven’t missed any deadlines reports or appearances. Additionally, my hours have been increasing month over month and last month I was only 5 hours under the minimum. I have only been here for 6 months. What to do?

There’s a practice group that I’ve been trying to find work in but whenever I volunteer to help, I always get roped in to do non billable work. I have ADD and occasionally make small mistakes in my work, like leaving a word missing when editing sentences, small formatting errors or leaving an internal comment in drafts sent to clients. All partners have been very understanding and care about the quality of my work, and no client has ever complained. Partners and clients praise my work.

But now, one partner has become super mad and when I explained ADD, he said:
