I deal with that a lot too, I wish people would just be more forward when they have criticisms instead of being so passive aggressive about it. I try to just ignore it whenever it happens, but that's getting harder to do.
Not leadership per se, but yes in general. With experience you can sniff it out and use directness to put someone in their place.

Yep it’s a real thing and I address it head on as best as I can. And I let my manager know I’m going to address it head on so he can’t act like he didn’t know it’s going down.
All of the time. I also pick my moments to address it directly. Sometimes that works well, other times not. Usually when people are doing this, they don’t enjoy it being discussed.
Yes, you are not alone. Passive aggressiveness is such a quick way for employees to respect for leadership
It makes me value the direct people in my work life that much more. Even if I don’t agree with them, at least they say and do what they mean.
