If she no longer has symptoms and the FIL still has no symptoms, this should be fine.

You can test positive for up to 3 months after having Covid. She is right. Not sure why you put the quotes there.

@OP It certainly comes off like you think she’s full of it, especially as you referenced that your experience was that your husband tested negative after 8 days. Do whatever you want to do, OP. But you came here looking for opinions and mine is that your MIL is completely valid in her reasoning and that you are looking for reasons to bail.

Nope
Try doing a rapid test if you’re worried - they are better at picking up active and contagious infections, while a PCR picks up even small amounts after people are no longer symptomatic. But absent symptoms, tens days later, you really should be fine
I spoke to my father (a physician) about this as I have asymptomatic COVID. He told me he disregards tests after the initial confirmed positive result as you can get positives for long after you’re contagious. He said to just follow the isolation timeline guidelines.
Just ask her to take a rapid test the morning of to see if she’s infectious
Science keeps changing -it is now down to 7 days
Yeah she’s right, as long as her symptoms have dissipated she isn’t contagious.
