I am a heavy ruminator at night and go through dire emotions before events I can’t control (like giving birth, or creative reviews haha). I talk to my partner about it. He reminds me it’s just a phase I go through. Everything always turns out fine. My brain is unkind at night time and I can’t take stalk in any of the negative feelings that pop up in the evening. Recognizing the pattern has helped me, and having my partner acknowledge it with empathy makes me feel less neurotic while I go through it. I don’t know if I’ll ever stop, but I don’t suffer so much anymore and I can pull out of a negative spiral before it gets too deep.
Create a warm, cozy loving atmosphere at home, third trimester really wrecks up your sleep and overall thinking due to hormones and other factors of pregnancy. If possible encourage her to take warm bath before sleep, get her side sleeping hugging pillows or you could scoop too… listen to some soothing music or listen to any soothing sounds before bed. All of these should help her get good nights sleep and wake up feeling refreshed and well rested.
As for emotional support you are reaching out here that shows that you care for her and all you need to do is lend her a sympathetic ear and all will be fine! Good luck to both of you!
