Now my past company CTO is asking me to join his current company as Product Analyst again it's a 4 year old company.

From a PM to a PA role will this affect me in my career.

I was hired a few months ago by D to do data science. I am not doing data science currently, is there a way I can switch roles internally? Should I talk to my coach? Or should I just start looking for a new job. I’m starting to feel that the field is so hot rn my small stint at D won’t be a big deal to other firms.

Does where you get your masters degree matter? I’m in an online environmental science masters program at an expensive “name-brand” school, but have colleagues telling me I should transfer to a less expensive program to save $ because no one cares about where your degree is from. Aside from the cost of it, I like my program, and the fact that I’m now connected to an incredible alumni network. And not gonna lie, I like the clout. Thoughts?

I have 3 years of consulting (2.5 at EY, .5 at boutique) in finance and analytics. I’m struggling on looking for roles because I’m afraid I will go down in comp (currently base 105)

I have a total of 4 years sales experience, 1 year in life insurance sales and 3 in retail banking (lending, investment referrals, merchant services referrals).

I did well in banking, but incentive plan has suffered tremendously, so I’m looking to jump into tech sales where I could be more compensated for the work.

I am looking to get into technical/engineering sales. Does anyone have any recommendations of where to start or places to look at? LinkedIn and other job postings sites are overwhelming and I’ve always wanted to get into sales. My background is industrial engineering with a minor in business and my current role is a mechanical engineer in manufacturing with about 6 years of experience. Top SDRs oftentimes don't sound like traditional salespeople when cold calling. They use a very casual voice tone.

Here are a few tips:

1. Avoid upward inflections at the end of sentences. This makes it sound like everything you ask is a question
2. Slow down and eliminate buzzwords. Speaking fast makes you sound nervous and less confident
3. Avoid reading from a script - internalize your message and put it into your own works so you sound like YOU!
