Wanted to share. If you had a credit card before you joined the service and still have that credit card you need to apply for the service civil relief act. It’s taken my credit card interest to 4% APR. This is huge because normal credit card APR is about 19%. If you have different platforms please share!

Dang! Is there a platform we can share for current service members?

I remember hearing about this from my leadership when I was active 20 years ago

Also just an FYI-
Credit card companies waive their annual fees while you’re active duty. So, if you sign up for one of the expensive cards that is loaded with benefits and allowances (like the Chase Sapphire Reserve, which has $300/year travel credit, annual DoorDash credits, airport lounges, warranty protections, and a boatload of other perks), you get all the perks for free and don’t have to pay the ~$600/year annual fee.

My generation is really f#cked up. It's impossible to save any money. And it's not that I don't want to. Is simply because I can't do it, by the end of the month there is really not much left. I'm exhausted of working to just pay bills 😔 Sometimes I wonder if those people that quit everything to have a better life are really the smarts one.

Parents are deciding between moving to WVirginia vs Virginia at retirement to be closer to us based in fairfax (ideally be at 1 hour driving distance). They currently in the mid west but WVirginia appeals to them because of low taxes, low cost of living. We are also poc so appreciate some diversity.

What are some areas you would recommend both in Va and WV? What else should they consider prior to house hunting? Dad likes to garden/farm as well so looking for homes with large backyards. Tia!

I make around 50k which is alright but its hectic as there’s too many tickets and not enough personnel. I heard this is common but I’m not sure.

I'd considered taking up a 9-5 somewhere but not sure if thatd wear off fast.
