What are some certifications that you can get as a therapist that you have found to be most helpful? How long was the training and how much did it cost?

I received EMDR training and it is one of the best things I did. I went on to begin the certification process. I once was told, if there’s anything you do, specialize your skills.

Recommend Gottman if you want to work with couples.

I have found that the EMDR certification has been very helpful in treating clients who have experienced trauma. The training takes about 50-60 hours and the cost can vary depending on the provider, but it can range from $2,000-$4,000.

I’m getting into ADHD. I took a PESI certification course. I usually work with children, but I also work with adults. I'd want to work with parents who don't understand their children. Adults who cannot understand themselves. But I'm still interested in other things. I enjoy IFS (I also bought a class on it), DBT, and grief.

Curious if anyone else is or has been in the same boat. I started as an assistant at an entertainment law firm prior to passing the bar. Upon passing, the partner told me they would hire an assistant for me since I now became an associate. That was 1.5 years ago and I am still in the limbo of juggling my own workload + doing assistant roles for my supervisors. I have also had no increase in pay, which is a huge deal for me. Is this normal in the entertainment world? Any suggestions?
