What does it feel like to take adderall? Trying to figure out if it’s working for me. I just started and wondering if my dosage is correct at 5-10 mg.

It’s like the chaos and scattered thoughts are staying on their own tracks and allowing me to follow one track at a time. You know the other tracks are still there but you can focus on one at a time. I haven’t taken it in many years but at the peak I was on 80mg. When I started taking it they started me at 5 mg and titrated me up over 10+ years to get to the 80mg.

When it hits my brain goes quiet, like instantly. Also sometimes frenetic getting things done energy. Clarity of thought.

I've never done above 5mg of Adderall but take fast-acting Ritalin as needed daily. 5mg of either did nothing for me; I only even began to notice anything at 10mg and it was mild at best. So I get 20mgs and can take up to 60mg a day as needed. It's not perfect by any stretch but it certainly noticeably helps. Vyvanse I also tried but it made my insomnia significantly worse so that was a no-go for me.

You’re able to suddenly focus on things for long period of time, without mental distraction

like

Starting things is easier, and its likely you'll stay committed to finishing that thing. Beware of hyperfocus though, as you can get sucked into mundane tasks and "overdo" them or create extra work for yourself because it will feel good to do

Objective thinking and less emotional (for me at least). This can also stifle creativity and make you seem more cold.

A lot of energy. It is a stimulant after all.

Suppressed appetite

Drink a lot of water as you'll be peeing a lot

Can have anxiety when the meds are wearing off later in the day. Do not drink to try to overcome this as it can spiral very fast and it'll be ugly.

Lastly prioritize sleep, its very important. Don't take XRs too late in the day (12pm at the latest). Taking them late can negatively impact your sleep and/or keep you up

It feels sensational, can’t recommend it enough.
(Speaking for myself)

If you have to ask, it’s likely your dosage is too low. You will feel/know it.

Our 5 month old started daycare about 5 weeks ago. We’ve already had to keep her home for 2.5 of those 5 weeks due to catching various illnesses (croup, rsv, brinchiolitis, etc). Both my wife and I have been sick most of that time as well (gotten it from the baby). Wife is thinking we get a full time nanny for the next 4 months to help the baby build antibodies. Cost aside, is this feasible / worthwhile to go thru the effort / finding the right fit, only for 4 months?

Okay everyone, I need to rant here.

I'm so sick and tired of getting an email everyday! And I mean every single day getting a COVID 19 email saying there are cases.

My school gets so many cases, I firmly believe we need to go back on lock down and online. This is getting ridiculous that we put state funding over the well being of our students and staff!! I dont want to get sick nor get covid or spread it to our students.

And our job wonders why no one wants to work for us and stay working.

FAANG people - do you genuinely have good health plans and what does that translate to specifically for you?

Y’all. The past 3 months I’ve been really going through it mentally it’s been up and down. I had my breaking point last night and it feels like today I can’t even think about work. I know where most of this is coming from. I recently started therapy about 2 months ago and It’s been really eye opening and helpful but also it’s been extremely hard to learn certain things and patterns about myself. I had a really bad breakdown last night. And curious how therapy has helped you

For those who already have a baby - I (36f) just had a baby 6 weeks ago, and my wife (33F) is now back at work (WFH) and I’m still on leave. Since I have the baby all day and get up with her all night, my wife basically “takes over” baby duty when she stops working. The problem is that within an HOUR she has lost all patience with the baby. She gets frustrated so quickly if the baby is crying and will say things like “I’m just going to let her cry since nothing im doing helps” (cont)
