I had a call with a recruiter at BCG towards the end of last week. I went to check the job description for the role on the careers website and it’s not there anymore. Instead it says, “we’re sorry…the job you are trying to apply for has been filled.” Why would the recruiter reach out to me about applying for this role if they were going to fill it so soon? The role is still listed on LinkedIn but when I click apply it takes me to the BCG careers page with the note saying the role has been filled

Hi i lost majority of my money in the stock market. I married and promised my family that I will not make the mistake I made 7 years ago. Gambling. Is this an addiction I have. I keep selling stocks and taking loses buying other stock hoping it will recover but never did and sell again taking loses and buy again. It now sink in to me. I was downsized by this company 6 years ago and had worked for them for 8 years prior. I am now in talks with them about another oppertunity but they do not want to let me start back with those 8 years. I looked up standard practice and according to the standards at the Society of Human Resources Management HR should give me my time back cause I was downsized (not fired for cause and I did not quit). Fellow enterprise tech sales fish, I’m interested to hear your perspective. I’ve been in a rut lately and seriously considering leaving sales. I think it’s primarily fueled by one thing:
After a 6 mo cycle I closed a large deal (4x the average deal size) prior to receiving delayed 2022 comp plans. The deal counts as a 2022 deal. On last years comp plan it would’ve paid out at 10%. This year it pays out at a measly 4%.

Lately, I've been hearing a lot from my peers about how sales isn't a real profession.
I work at a tech startup and it mostly comprises developers. They can't stop emphasizing their importance in the food chain and I can't figure if I'm too humble or they're too arrogant.
