Cg has offered to match upto 23.5 lakhs.. Is it worth moving to TCS on this grade? My primary reason for moving out of Cg is i m bored of beauocracy and WLB at current project. Is it a good idea to still switch with the counter offer from Cg Capgemini Tata Consu

I suppose the best explanation is that I worked my way into it. I never really received any education in leadership in school. Whatever I learned I learned on the job, and I think that may have been the best incubator.
Public accounting staff to supervisor (no training) to nonprofit director.
Technical experience leading to being in charge of others.
It was by being the person who worked with multiple teams to get them to collaborate with each other, by making sure there was a clear purpose attached to the work we were doing (even if it meant challenging the project leader to make sure it was defined) and by being able to get stuff done.
TL:DR: didn’t learn it, didn’t just work hard - just started leading people first, got the job to do it second.
As with the others in this thread, I started working closely with others, offering to help with problems, and having empathy. After I was promoted to 'manager', my manager immediately got me a mentor. I then attended management and leadership seminars. However, a lot of it is on the job experience. You will will learn quickly what to do and what not to do.
Coach
Same as M1 and D1 for me. I worked my way into it. Training was self driven, by finding mentors, using coaches, reading a ton, and taking classes. Until recently, when my company realized they need to train their leaders more proactively. They’re offering some really strong leadership training now, which is wonderful and does a lot to reinforce the things I fought to learn on my own.
It was by way of mentor, or mentors for that matter. I am fortunate enough to have had many great mentors over the years who have helped shape me and get me to where I am now. I also think hard work played a large part of that as well.
Hard work and promotion. I never went to college or had a mentor. When I started I took lots and lots of notes and tried to learn everything I could about not only my job, but other departments as well and became a SME within a couple of years. After 15 years I still continue to actively learn and ask questions.
