Would a SHRM certification be beneficial for a consultant in organization strategy? Anyone in a similar boat?

Yes and yes, although I’d go with HRCI’s certification instead.

helpful

HRCI has been around longer and most are familiar with that certification. HRCI used to be the certification body for SHRM. A few years ago SHRM was looking for ways to create more income streams so without warning, they cut off HRCI and started their own certification. So few people were getting it in the beginning that SHRM gave no cost certification equivalent matching with their own, expecting the revenue for renewal cycles and training fees. It was all pretty shady.

helpful

It would be helpful but HRCI is more credible

I’ve been thinking about trying for SPHR but would need to do a lot of studying and am fully at a loss of where to start. Can anyone comment on the utility / value of paid courses or programs?

Understood. Just wondering about SPHR studying recommendations. Thanks

Is there such things as FP&A positions in Big 4? If so, are there better times to make the change than others (I.e. at senior vs manager)? I’m currently in FP&A and looking to work at a Big 4, or another company that offers the ability to move abroad. My current company and many others I know about do not offer the mobility to do so until much later, which is not what I want. Thank you.

My manager kept telling me how much he appreciate what I did for the team and he was only expecting less than 30% of what I do for them. I feel like he was lying and they wanted to pay more to get better applicants

Has anyone found a way to automate salary certifications?

We get about 3-5 requests daily to fill out salary certifications for our employees in EMEA.

At the moment, we have to do all of them manually. We open a pdf, then open their employee file and plug away. It's tedious and time-consuming, but the banks I found won't accept an internal salary certification for some reason. They're adamant about using their form. Has anyone come across this?
