Leaving public with 2.5 years experience. Senior Accountant Salary expectations? Greater Seattle area
Some recruiters are f**king clueless. I made it clear what my salary expectations are and then they try to push me into this staff accountant position paying 60k, which would be a 5k pay cut and I have 2 years exp about to be promoted to senior. Now she's giving me the runaround how I won't get a senior position in industry after I've told her I had interviews for senior positions already paying 85k+
Have an offer to leave for industry for a Sr. Accountant role for an F500 that, despite the economy, is growing rapidly. Currently an A3 in the greater Michigan market. CPA. 20% pay bump plus 8% on average bonus thereafter, excluding any future pay increases from promotions. Solid benefits/ retirement match. ESPP. Do I abandon ship?
I have 2 offers: One is in internal audit, $89k (middle of pay grade), 10-17% annual bonus, around 40 hrs a week and rarely any overtime. The other is a senior accountant role, $86k (high end of pay grade), 10% annual bonus, 40 hrs a week except for period closings (45-50hrs). What would you do?
Is it still possible for an accountant from a corporate company to work in external audit firm with no huge decline in salary grade? Per my knowledge salary in external audit is very low unless you're a Partner ✌
Is there a salary difference between a Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A and a Senior Accountant? Assuming you have the same amount of accounting experience when applying for each position.
Could anyone share what a reasonable salary would be for a Senior Accountant role in Los Angeles (industry)? I’m a third year senior with almost 5 years of experience (3 and half years in PA and 1 year in CMAAS). Any input is appreciated since I’m not familiar with the area.

Senior accountant salary expectations for someone with three years at PwC with CPA? I work in a HCOL and am considering LA/Boston and have seen recruiters state anything from 75K to100K salary with bonus and stock (sometimes)
Applied for a government job as an accountant today. Base pay is 40% higher than what I’m making now as an A3, assurance, LCOL. As a matter of fact, base pay is higher than my total comp at PwC (that’s base plus bonus and the value of all benefits). Are government jobs competitive to get into?
What is the average percentage of hike in salary in every appraisal cycle at Infosys for a Chartered accountant from Associate consultant level? Any inputs would be really helpful.
Anyone familiar with salary in orange county (SoCal) and LA/El Segundo area? Interviewed for a senior accountant role in a public health care industry in Irvine, but their maximum pay is 85K. I thought Irvine should have pretty good pay too but this surprises me. Even a private Healthcare company in El Segundo pays more than that for the same role but with even lesser experience and easier job duties...
Is this salary too low? I'm @ final interview for senior accountant and job posting said $60-65k. Before you say it's too low right away, my experience is on a low end of this of this role. Just 1 year auditer @ national top 10, 6 months intern at same firm, 1 year accounting intern at local private firm, and 2 years doing AP clerk. I'm a licensed CPA and in MCOL. I really want this title for growth but don't want to get stiffed. It's a large corp w/ great benefits.
Currently making $57.5 as a Tax Associate. (No raises this year). Had a job interview for a Senior Accountant role at a PE firm and they asked for salary expectations... I said $65-$80. Did I set the bar too low?
What is a typical bonus for a senior accountant for a industry role? I am looking for rough average percentages. Thanks!

How much should you expect your salary to increase yearly as a fund accountant compared to a public accountant?
Would you give me some thought? Like everyone else, I have no bonus and a small raise for a promotion. So, yeah I applied for jobs and had some good news. Big4 S1 Tax 75K F500 Company Sr. tax accountant 81k +bonus Location - Pittsburgh, PA Should I leave public now? Or stay.
Saw on B4 accountant today that PwC announced 1-5% increase in base salary. Is that real? And is it on top of what people who were promoted this year received?
Can someone tell me a round about salary difference for a CPA and non CPA Tax Accountant?
I have 3 yrs experience and CPA and just got the following offer. Position: Senior Accountant Base : 78k with 10% bonus Location: Houston, Texas Does this seem like a good offer?
Hey all. I really need some opinions on this position I was just offered in Plano TX. The position is for a senior accountant role with a base comp of $90K-$95K and 10% bonus. I’m not too familiar with the area but the role is remote for the next couple of months and I was wondering if that’s a decent salary for that area. Thank you in advance!
24 yrs old, Macc, 1.5 yrs PwC tax experience, 1/4 done with CPA. Salary still capped at 55.5k. Just received an experienced tax accountant offer from a company for 75k with 10% bonus after 1 year, same promotion structure as PA (SA,Manager, etc.). I should probably take this right? I believe a top tier SA on my PwC team with several years experience was making 75kish.
Considering 2 industry job offers - #1 is a mid-size software company, $70k + $5k signing bonus. #2 is a mid-size fintech company, $83k. I've been wanting to work for #1 and I like the industry and people better, but am having trouble looking past the pay. For context, I'm a senior 1 making $73k base. Both roles are standard GL accountant roles, and benefits are similar. Would you take a pay cut for a company you wanted to work for?
Just got my comp review scheduled for Nov 10th and should be receiving a promotion to senior accountant. What should a reasonable comp adjustment be and how should I negotiate a higher one if I don't think the one is reasonable?
When a recruiter ask for compensation expectation do you usually say the base or total? Also for those working in internal audit positions within an industry, is there usually bonus or is that mostly for senior accountant/financial reporting positions ?
Hi all, I am needing some help with a salary negotiation. I am trying to relocate to Pittsburgh area. I have 3.5 years of experiences now and getting offered between 80k-85k for base salary for a senior accountant or reporting analyst position. Does this sound about right? I get paid more right now (maybe becasue I am in Oil and Gad industry) but want to see what the market average look like in Pittsburgh.
What would be possible starting salary in KPMG Toronto Hamilton office if you are joining as a 2nd year staff accountant or 1st year senior, working towards CPA. Also, is CPA required at senior level or manager level?
Working in Non FS industry for 3 years now(will become S2 soon). Now given an opportunity of fund accountant role. Basic salary is S1 salary, with bonus, it is between S1 to S2 salary. Should I accept? Is it probable to jump from fund accountant to financial reporting later on?
Slalom friends - how negotiable is salary? Can anyone share their experience (consultant level)
AE salary at a big Chicago agency? (Leo, DDB, FCB, etc). Have a few offers and want to be prepared going into talks.
Alright crew, I need some advice. I’m currently in negotiations to possibly leave my firm (Merrill Lynch) and work for an RIA. I will be given a salary to service some of their current clients and then a split for clients I bring in. They will also put prospects in front of me and I will own my own book. Should I do it? I’m making a nice salary in the FADP program but I know that won’t last forever.
Should I leave my agency, where I have good work life balance but shit pay, for blackstone, which will ruin my work life balance but pays double my current salary?
Are you allowed to share an offer letter from one company with another? I’m negotiating for a higher salary by leveraging another offer.
Recruiter wants to give me a call with an offer (assuming). Can I ask them to send me an official offer letter with comp and give me a week to decide?
SM/D fish, what kind of opportunities are you finding/targeting (including comp)? I have been casually looking for almost two years but haven’t found anything so far. Looking at VP level role in my line of work at Fortune 500 but I’m starting to consider SD role too although some roles feel like it’s a bit of a step back. I really want to exit consulting this year but am a bit discouraged.
So this might be a better place to post this and ask this question: Uncle D has announced explicitly that most people won’t get a pay raise & bonus this year except for those promoted and high performers. Amid this crisis, are companies including other big 3, MBB, FAANG, boutique consulting firms still giving high raises and issue stocks? Can you share the impact from your firm?
External offer coming. 25-30% increase in base, plus a targeted 25% bonus. Certain my employer will not be able to match (would require two levels of promo and there are no bonuses). When I let my manager know, do I even leave it open for a counter? Or say “thank you, I am moving on.” I’ve compared job vs job and it will be a lot more work for much more money - and this is what I want. I am just curious for input on how to do this gracefully and if not even allowing a counter is distasteful.
@Amazon: senior technical program manager, what can I expect for the compensation package (base range, equity, annual bonus, signing bonus, etc.)?

Can anybody provide information on the rough salary bands for a Manager and Senior Manager at EY in their Cyber practice? Thanks in advance!
Hi all! Potential move Connor Group. Currently a Staff 2 at EY. SM from Connor Group has told me that there should be an upgrade in salary and more relaxed work pace. I believe him. Any info/ advice ?
For anyone who took a reduced salary for a reduced work week in this crisis: Is your agency honoring this arrangement? Do the people above you make sure you take the day? Or are they working you twice as hard but paying you less? Did they reduce your team as well and put you in a position where you had to pick up the slack and not honor their commitment to you?
I was pulled into a meeting to essentially give my opinion on my supervisor’s performance. It sounds like they’re about to get fired. Do I give them a heads up? If it were me, I would want to know, but if it gets out I said something I don’t want it to burn any bridges with upper leadership...
I know this is probably a well-worn topic, but I have lots of internal debate over whether I would regret not doing an MBA. 28 with TC of $250K and am not looking for a major career switch. But also have some FOMO over not having an MBA or other advanced degree. How have others navigated this?
How hard is it to get a salary of 150K from 100K? I started around 60K in HCOL and found offers around 80-110K within in 1-3 of experience. How long would it take on average to achieve a jump from 100K to 150K? Anyone have first or second hand experience?
What do folks think about mid-career or executive level MPH programs? Worth it or a total waste money? Was thinking more health related credentials could be useful.
For those that stayed for 5 years or more- does the 401k matching really start to add up to more than you think? I’ve been here a year with no matching, which was bummed had to wait that long.
Honest question for my desi 🐠. How many of you have a really good relationship with your MIL (specifically the women with their MIL). I am wondering if my wife and mother have a problem that is common to many or are they a minority.
Does anybody have a good generic business plan or executive summary template? Helping a family friend put one together for their small healthcare business outlining what they do, how many patients, etc Struggling to think of a good format or layout when not using firm specific decks. Thanks!
A US resident on a Green Card can apply for unemployment benefits. However will this hurt his chance of getting his citizenship? Don’t need an opinion interested only in the facts. Please advice.
My manager (VP of marketing) is actively interviewing elsewhere - she has interview slots on her work calendar (can be seen by everyone). Other events are marked private, but all the interviews are not. It’s so weird 😂
I can’t choose between Arjun and Yuvan for my baby boy! What would you choose if it were up to you?
I was invited to interview by a recruiter at G for a BizOps strategy role based in California. I currently live in the Denver area, SO is in grad school. Is Google flexible with work location? Even for the first year or so?
Tips for interviewing at a lower MM PE firm?
Thoughts on creating a second email for referral-based applications? Building contacts for referrals is taking some time so I don't want to wait to apply. But I do want to get the benefits of a referral if I could get them, so I was thinking about applying with my primary email, and if necessary, reapplying with my secondary email once I get a referral.
Question for HC 🐠 of color. If you were offered a role at a company where there was little to no diversity within the group you were interviewing for (not even at the level you were interviewing for, or at senior leadership level) would this be a red flag for you in terms of culture, & potential opportunities? I want to keep an open mind but this company has been around for 20 years. The people I interviewed with were great but im concerned that there’s a larger problem at play. Thoughts?
I have seen Big 4s sponsoring H1B visa in US however in Australia Big 4 dont sponsor work visa. Why is that so?
When doing anything finance related, I overlook basic details and my numbers end up being a mess. Is there a course I can take or a book I can read to get better at my agency financial literacy?
If my current H1B visa stamp on passport is approved for 3 years under my current employer name, do I have to go to the consulate again for a new visa stamp if I change employer?
Current project leadership is like gorilla glue and won't let people off. How to roll off without doing something that would get you fired?
I'm in big law, and my firm won't match my 401k contributions. They have a profit sharing structure with no minimum contributions necessary as long as I participate in their 401k program. Should I still max out my 401k? The tax argument doesn't appeal to me since I'll be paying taxes when I withdraw anyways, and I'll likely be in a higher income bracket by then.
