Currently a senior accountant at a small company doing the monthly close financial process. Got two offers, one as a senior cost accountant and one as a senior financial analyst. Both similar comp and at great companies that have 10,000 or more employees. I’ve been wanting to get experience in both cost accounting and financial analysis.

Which role would be the smartest move based off the titles?

I currently have a job in a family office making 95k plus a 15-20% bonus given in February as a tax accountant, WFH 2 days a week. I’ve been working there for approximately 8 months. I got an offer from EQX for 135k no bonus as a sr partnership acct, I’d be the only one on the partnershp team,WFH 1 day a week. Im not sure if I should stay and wait for the bonus and then look for a different job or just leave now? I enjoy working from home but not sure if this new companies office will be better.

Hey all- I feel like I have always seen conflicted suggestions on when to leave and what position to leave for. I am an S2 (manager promo would be next year) making 80k in MCOL in audit. I have an offer for a senior accountant position with equity grant at hire and 100k base, no annual bonus. I feel like the base increase is more than I thought I could get, but is that true? Do I need to look for a different position in industry, or do I need to stay until manager? Any thoughts much appreciated

I have a company where I applied to a Senior Accountant role (3-4 weeks ago). I didn't hear back at all. But they just dropped a staff accountant role. I like the company and what they are doing.

Would it be uncouth for me to apply for the staff position too? Or is that a no-no? I feel like the cover letter would write itself - I like you enough to take a title cut. It helps they included the salary, and the staff salary is lateral to my current role.

I recently got an offer for almost double my current salary. A tech startup wants me to join the team and handle a few select balance sheet items as part of their fairly large accounting department… the only thing is I’m worried I’ll be pigeonholing myself. Should I be okay with transitioning as an auditor to a specialized accountant like that? Some recruiters are f**king clueless. I made it clear what my salary expectations are and then they try to push me into this staff accountant position paying 60k, which would be a 5k pay cut and I have 2 years exp about to be promoted to senior. Have an offer to leave for industry for a Sr. Accountant role for an F500 that, despite the economy, is growing rapidly. Currently an A3 in the greater Michigan market. CPA. 20% pay bump plus 8% on average bonus thereafter, excluding any future pay increases from promotions. Solid benefits/ retirement match. ESPP. Do I abandon ship?

I have 2 offers:

One is in internal audit, $89k (middle of pay grade), 10-17% annual bonus, around 40 hrs a week and rarely any overtime.

The other is a senior accountant role, $86k (high end of pay grade), 10% annual bonus, 40 hrs a week except for period closings (45-50hrs).
