MD (not direct manager) but work alongside them closely knows I’m unhappy and frustrated with role/comp. Has offered to be a reference if needed for external search. Some what rhetorical, but should I trust this person or should I be lips sealed until I find the next seat? Gut leaning toward stfu-ing
https://joinfishbowl.com/post_0um71i A lot of debate here and we’ve gotten a lot of “ranges.” Anybody have actual insight on the avg/median comp Principal/MD/Partner or how the comp model actually translates to numbers? I work at a global asset mgmt firm that pays out bonuses in Jan every year. If I transfer to another team internally by the end of this year, would I still get a bonus- based on your industry experience at other major finance firms? I’d think I’ll be fine but in my previous two years, it was the MD of my group and my boss communicating bonus info to me - so not sure how this works. My current boss will also do my 2020 year end performance, not my new boss. TIA

Question: Theoretically, what kind of raise (percentage) or benefits would you need to leave a role where you have *relatively* good work, a good team and great work/life balance, with the consideration that money, location and family/personal affairs aren’t issues? My MD is pushing for me to get a 15% raise in my current role, but I know I’m worth at least 35% more than my current comp.

What's it like being an FS Consulting Director in London for Big 4? I'm ex-Accenture & industry Buy-Side and was a Director in both roles. Number of new clients? - What's the work life balance like at Director level? - What's it like competing with other Directors within the team, all vying for the Partner track? Particularly as I'm not ex-big 4 or homegrown -

Question (probably most relevant for big four tax/audit folks). I was living in the UAE for 3 years (tax-free country). For US citizens exclusion amount is ~$105k I believe. My wages from Jan-June 2020 were earned in Dubai, I moved home at the end of June 2020. I also had a bonus that was due in March but payments were scattered over 4 months between Sep 2020-Dec 2020/Jan 2021. Does anyone know if I will be required to pay tax on the income earned between Jan-June 2020 and/or the bonus? Thanks!
HBS usually posts the Round 2 interview invite date by now. Strange that it wasn’t published last week? I’m sure it coming this next week, but I wonder if it’s due to high applicant volume.

Is there anyone that is teaching from home and your students have returned to school? How did you get permission to do that and how does that work with kids in the classroom? I am guessing there has to be an adult in the room while the students are in there but is there another teacher during their planning or do you have to get a sub? Our reentry has been delayed and I am working with HR to try and stay home while students aren’t there but it looks like I’m going to have to take some Parental Leave once students do return because there is not a plan otherwise.
How do people go to grad school, work full time and do it all with young kids? I love the thought of an MBA, but not the misery that will accompany it. Maybe later in life?
