Reasonable salary expectations for Senior level audit/assurance positions at a HCOL (San Francisco and surrounding areas) Top 20 firm? I have callbacks from PwC, KPMG and BDO scheduled in the next few business days, don’t want to undersell myself or give a number that’s way out there and ruin a chance to interview. I’m too jaded by tech salaries here that are $300k starting, obviously CPAs don’t command that, just wondering what a good range is and I’ll ask for the high end of that.

Recently contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn. I interviewed with her and then her supervisor. I have another interview with the actual company today. Currently at base of 150k plus 20% bonus in the Midwest. New company is located in California (San Bernadino), recruiter asked my target, and I asked the hiring range is… she said 200-250k plus bonus. Originally I said 230k but started looking at housing.
