Is the Intelligent Investor worth a read (very long book with old English) or does it simply just say to invest in stocks you believe in and diversify your money

For those that invested in real estate rentals, how did you systematically approach finding a good property? Realized most of my stock investments was just gambling and I don’t want to gamble on a RE investment. Read a few books but none of them go into how to actually find a good deal/city.

Hi Fishes, I have not showcased very sound financial discipline till date and have not invested much in MF, stocks, etc. I would like to start investing now to save for future but have no idea about where to begin from and how to assess the risk/potential returns and start. How the hell does one get into buying investment property? My buddy does well for himself. He’s in finance and I’d imagine takes home a pretty salary + bonus. He’s on his third property within 2 years. In this real estate market. I have a ton of savings and have little confidence in stocks right now. Any books or sites I should be looking into?

Hey all newbie here. My husband and I are living that Double Income No Kid life wanting to (Financial Independence) Retire Early.

An offtopic query to all the folks. What car do you guys own and at point of your carrier did you buy one? Since it’s an expenditure and not an investment, how much did you spend on the car?

Planning to buy a car because we do not have one and it’s a pain watching my mom travel here and there in public transport. She’s 57. I book cabs for her despite her scolding me for spending money unnecessarily on booking cabs for her. At times, she doesn’t even tell me and goes out to buy household stuff.

22 years old and currently focused on using my left over income to invest and pay off my debt. I’m an attorney trying to learn about finance and economics. I didn’t take any economics courses in college and don’t have any experience in that area. What books or other resources would you recommend for a beginner? I’m not looking for investment guides.

I’m a new CSM (9 months) and I work at a company that doesn’t invest much in its CSM team. I’ve been struggling because as time goes on I feel more and more like a token hire. We have no play book/structure, no CSM tool and I’m current organizing all 95 of my clients on spreadsheets while also handling presales trials with a salary under 50k.

I'm 26, I studied economics but I don't know why I'm not much into investing/trading. Someone else like this?
I recognize this is not a very good approach for someone with money "knowledge" and I would like to change this mindset. My main weakness is that I easily get bored of following the market and that I do not see big opportunities. Any advice?
