I’m bored out of my mind on vacation. Everyone of my friends including me is reluctant to socialize IRL til we get boosters (plus, our two regular spots closed due to staff shortages from infections). Trying everything from getting interested in videogames to writing an investor deck for an idea I had. Bought so many random Kindle books and started so many shows. Anyone else feel like it’s early 2020 again? What are other single people up to? Realize yes, seems milder.

How do you guys decide where to invest money? I just bought a 2 bedroom apartment that I’m confident will bring long term growth. I plan on buying another apartment for rental purposes in the next few months. But I want to start investing in the market in a smart way that will lead to greater financial stability. Does anyone have any tips / books they use? I can’t invest directly so I would need to hire an investment manager - but I feel like i don’t even know where to start.

I still have the question of do individuals that take the index fund route… do you all purchase the same funds for different accounts? Example, would you invest in VTSAX across a brokerage and roth account, or would you take a different approach for each account?

Reading Atomic Habits (amazing book) and wanted to ask this intelligent group: what is the best good habit that you’ve automated, or bad habit you’ve made more difficult in the present to generate future returns. For me I think it has been auto deduction for 401k and auto index investing monthly.

Trying to find a lateral (with their own book) to join our firm. We are a small firm of about 6 attorneys and represent a number of super high net worth investors and investment firms. So there would likely be significant referrals to the lateral. Any advice on finding such a person.

For any of you real estate investors, what tools or sources did you learn from when getting started. Can’t find a mentor currently so want to find some highly recommended books or videos. If focused on the tri-state area (NY, NJ, Long Island mainly) that would be even better. My hope is to buy and rent out a apartment while also owning a house and house hacking that by renting part of it out.
