Hey everyone . What is the best approach / program for a seasoned advisor to pass the CFP via self study program ? Thanks

Please debate: college football is less fun now that the top 3 spots each year in the CFP are Bama, Clemson & Ohio state with the 4th seemingly open to Georgia, ND, Oklahoma? If you agree, what would mix it up?

Currently in public accounting but want to specialize and focus on managing client's money (In terms of a budgeting perspective) and helping them save money. I assume this would go towards the tax planning and CFP route. Not sure how to ask my boss and present it this method. Thoughts?

I’m looking for a fully licensed FA with 3-5 years experience in the North Dallas,Tx area. Small BOB preferred.
The position is salaried with discretionary bonus. The advisor must be people oriented and desire to obtain the CFP designation.

I don't have anyone else who gets this, but I hit my personal goal this year in almost every category; revenue, income, AUM growth, etc. Our fiscal year ends in October and I ended the year with a bang. Just super excited and I hope everyone else knows, this business is worth it when you put in the time and effort! Edit: also passed CFP in March!

At what point in my career should I consider taking the CFP? Almost 4 years in the business and have my AAMS and CRPC designations already.

Thoughts on the CFP designation? Is it still worth considering or have stringent regulations muddied the waters? My goal is to have as many certifications under my belt as possible (to serve my clients the best I can) and I’m wondering which path I should pursue.

1) What’s a globally-recognized certification/designation that you would recommend to someone with a non-traditional finance background? Would like to level-up my career 2) can anyone comment on the CFP?

Is it unrealistic of me to sit for the CFP exam in March if I start studying next week? I have three years of experience as an FA and I plan to study 2 hrs/night Mon-Thurs and all day on Sat/Sun

Anyone use Kaplan for their CFP prep? What were your thoughts on it...

Do CFP CPA CFA and MBA make that big of a difference in the RIA world? I’ve seen very successful individuals with all 3 and without any at all

I am looking to drop my series 7 and join an RIA. I’ve finally accepted that the BD environment is a terrible fit for me. I would like to join an RIA team because I’m just over 5 years in and I would like to have some mentors to continue learning from, but if I can’t find the right fit then my plan is to launch my own. Where to start looking for an established RIA? I have not completed my CFP yet.

Hey fishbowlers! Question concerning compensation for an FA assisting the main advisor on a $135M book. I am doing a lot of the work now as he is going to retire in 4-5 years and he is taking a step back. I do all the investment management in the account. Only 4 years of experience but I've picked this up quick, am series 9-10 licensed and halfway through the CFP.
What is fair compensation for someone like me? I don't know what is typical or fair.

Does anyone have thoughts on leaving big 4 to work at a private wealth management firm? Have a CPA would consider getting CFP if it would help fit the requirements. Had someone reach out and haven’t done a ton of research yet just wanted to get some base level opinions.

I’m 27 years old and married. A CFP from Northwestern Mutual is reaching out trying sign me up for a whole life insurance, supplemental disability, and obviously some mutual funds. I have PwC’s 10x salary supplemental life insurance and I hear that whole life is a scam so not sure if I need more. Don’t think I need more disability insurance but my spouse may need it. I have 115k in investments spread across diff vehicles. Do I need a CFP and should I sign up for mutual funds?

Is getting your CFP worth the investment? I am in my 30s and plan on staying in this industry as an FA until I retire. Lately I’ve been getting asked if I offer any fee-only options and I know you can’t be fee-only unless you’re a CFP... Do we see the industry headed this way?
