If you get on a PIP the first year in your firm, should you stay or resign? (Analyst level)
The only pro I imagine is it's easier to bring up in potential job interviews and gives you peace of mind regarding future employers asking why you left your former employer if you left go.
Cons: Less time to put on your resume, paying back signing bonus, longer unemployment time.

What kind of leverage does having Big4 on your resume TRULY give you when applying to a big name job industry job? Anyone have any experience moving from Big4 to a tech/social media/other company? Open to roles that aren’t necessarily senior tax, such as financial analyst/operations/accountant/etc.

Started a new job a month ago at a local marketing and analytics firm as a business analyst. I feel like it’s not a culture fit, but had the revelation I hate being a business analyst. I applied to a enterprise systems analyst role at a university as a long shot and they want to have an interview. It would allow me to learn about new technology but take on more of a team lead role which I’m also unsure about. My ultimate goal is to become more technical but it seems like a way too visible role!

I don't really have an industry that I'm really passionate about. I'm paranoid that I'll exit and get stuck in a specific industry. Did any of you have issues moving between industries? How did you manage to be competitive or overcome that issue when changing industries?

Asking for my Sister, what should she do? She is about to graduate undergrad with a major in Accounting (has taken all the CPA requirements) and now wants to be a Financial Analyst. I have good work experience at a decent IB (analyst to AVP in 4 years), 760 GMAT and pretty good ECs (founded young professionals board at work that has expanded nationwide) and general member of another board. However my GPA is 3.38 in finance from a well known state school. I’m applying to HWB and K, and feel good about my profile overall, but am starting to feel my GPA will be my downfall. There wasn’t extenuating circumstances, however, is there anything I can do to address it now?

Currently work as a credit analyst at a mutual fund, really want to switch to equity research. I haven’t had good luck getting interviews. I applied off the cuff to a role at a tech company (non FAANG). Now invited to interview. Role is an analyst level asking for 2+ YOE in consulting. I have 4.5. Now I see an opening for a Sr Analyst (same team) asking for 3+ YOE....is appropriate to bring up leveling in the intro call with the recruiter?

Looking for analyst/1st year associate level roles. Worked as a consulting analyst and was a high performer but had role affected by COVID at around 9 months in (still on good terms with old managers, eligible for rehire etc). I started a new job in industry as a Business Analyst. In a very shy person who usually stays very quiet in meetings when I don’t have anything to contribute. But l met with one of my leaders today who told me he had hired me because he thinks I’m a go-getter, negotiator & outspoken. Which I may have come across this way during the interview because I had to sell myself. Now I’m feeling like I’m not good for the role...I can’t all of a sudden just be outspoken! Got a positive feedback from HR manager. I was told( on a call in October) they'll get back but till today, I haven't received any clarity. Another HR contacted me in November regarding a different opportunity but same is the case here after 2 interviews. Is it normal in Deloitte to ghost the candidates after the interview or do I have some hope here?

I hate the post-interview gloom after it feels like you blew it. Was a highly technical interview and the interviewers were quite impersonal so that has added to the feeling of failure. I know I’m capable of doing the job and growing but no one wants to take that chance. Feels like consulting all over again where as an analyst, they say you’re able to learn but then only staff those with like 90-100% prior experience vs. someone who has only 50-75% but is highly capable. It sucks ass.

Facing an interesting dilemma about compensation vs title and looking for advice. I am currently a Senior Manager in the industry (work in Financial Systems). I recently got an offer for a Senior Business Analyst role (total compensation of $250K) in the same city - my current comp is $170K. The role is a major step down in title and responsibilities but gives me almost 50% increase in TC. The only reason interviewed at all is the TC.
