Any advice from lateraling into Product Management from a Business Systems Analyst background? I am able to get interviews but common feedback is “not enough product experience”.

Is there a salary difference between a Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A and a Senior Accountant? Assuming you have the same amount of accounting experience when applying for each position.

Got an offer from a boutique consulting firm in New York. Currently an Analyst up for promotion this June. Current pay is $85k and the offer is for $116.5k for a Senior Consultant role. I will be doing same work. FSI and banking client will be working on Data Transformation projects in Reg. Should i take the offer? PROS/VONS? I am a Permanent Resident to visa is not an issue. I used a referral to apply to some financial analyst roles. I like how recruiters are willing to personally decline you which opens a dialogue on criticism. I was given resources on improving resumes and interview skills. It seems my resume is in good shape according to the recruiter but I can’t seem to land an interview. Is there anything else left besides a referral and a good resume to get through? I feel like being from the east coast applying to west coast roles is a factor

Interviewing for an analyst position on a FIG M&A team. Most deals going on right now seem to be focused on raising capital until M&A picks back up. When I spoke to the recruiter, she said she would consider me for a Consultant role (which is the same level as my current level at Accenture, at KPMG they start at consultant, at Accenture we start as analyst). Got an interview opportunity at an IB recently for an Analyst role. I’m a Senior consultant with a Masters Degree with 2 years of work experience. When I asked if they’d offer me Associate instead of Analyst, they said that no one from B4 exits to an IB at associate with just 2 years of work ex. Is this true? Please offer any advise on how I should proceed further. Thanks.

Have an interview for an enterprise systems analyst role. Recruiter said they’re looking for someone who knows sql and can write custom reports using sql. My experience with sql is basically data validation, comparing against what’s on a report on a dashboard vs what’s in the database. Any tips to learn between now and Thursday or am I SOL?

Has anyone taken a finance job after Public and then regretted not staying in an accounting role? I’m interviewing with the same company for a senior finance analyst and senior financial accounting analyst positions. The finance one seems more interesting, but I also feel that accounting is a specialty that I shouldn’t give up.
