I think I bombed my interview to my top choice program. The small chat and connecting was fine, but I felt like I prepared for the wrong type of behavioral questions. And when I gave my response, I said a lot but it didn't mean anything.

Time to stress eat and cry over the election too.

Partners/Principals who have conducted behavioral interviews: what were some of your best & memorable interviewees like? What was their attitude like? Any advice for me who will have a behavioral interview with a partner tomorrow?

Got a first round “behavioral” interview invite for the EY infrastructure advisory group. Would love to know what are the specific skill sets they are looking for (I’m assuming modeling, financial analysis, presentation and project management), what questions to expect, and if there will be some kind of case / technical questions down the line. Recent MBAs— Do you think it’s worth it to pay for a mock interview with an MBA consultant (most seemed to be priced at $500-$750)? Obv feeling some nerves about interviewing (esp bc I haven’t had to in quite some time) so it could be helpful, but from talking to others, it seems like mostly simple behavioral questions and just showing that you’ve done your research on the school, can articulate your goals, and are normal/personable. Will be interviewing at Booth, LBS, Kellogg, + maybe Columbia!

Does HR screening interview (first round) usually include behavioral questions? Or just walk me your resume, why the company type of questions?

For the Accenture situational interview, is it better to try and stick to a day a 2-3 examples that may hit several behavioral themes? Also, what basic knowledge should I have about Accenture? Interviewing for either a consultant or manager role.

Has anyone gone through a Topgrading style interview?

I am scheduled for one soon and have never done one before. Is it similar to a behavioral interview and should my answers basically follow the STAR format?

Recently, I applied for a consultant position. The initial interview (this was a technical interview). Cleared this interview and went for two more interviews, mostly focused on consulting skills, behavioral questions, fit etc. I really thought the interviews went well. Currently a risk assurance senior at KPMG, with an upcoming interview for a job as an senior IT internal auditor in industry. For anyone who’s interviewed for IT auditor positions outside of the Big 4, can anyone give me ideas of what some questions might be like (outside of the typical behavioral questions)? Currently getting to later stages of PE interview process - have heard they become more behavioral later on, and with more senior folks. Any advice on how to approach this or what to expect? What are some of the toughest behavioral interview questions you have ever received?

Dumb question: is it appropriate to say the name of a client in an interview? If for example, I am asked a behavioral question I’d love to say the names of some of the clients I’ve worked with. But don’t want to come off as a breach of trust or anything.

I have a behavioral and case study interview with Deloitte GPS next week. My experience has been in financial data and management with around 3.5 YOE. I haven’t had to do a case study for an interview before and was hoping to get any advice on how to practice for a public sector one.
