Then the opposite experience for another firm; reasonably well with partner, really well with SM.

Which relationship is more important?

I have an interview next week for a Client Partnerships Manager role at a large entertainment company. The focus would be a client partner for Tech, QSR & Finance clients. Can you all provide any insight or tips into this role whether you've done it or partnered with someone who has. Also, what do you consider the media & marketing process to be?
And is QSR mean quick service restaurant. I come from the CPG & sale world. Thanks for any input. - repost across bowls

Currently in the US but interviewing for a UK-based firm and role. The comp level they are throwing around is £250k TC. Is this reasonable for a Director-level role with 12 YOE?

My comparator would be wait 18-24mo to become a consulting partner - in the US that starts at $450k/£325k.

For the purposes of this question, assume I’m optimizing for initial comp, not long term potential, and not livability, Intl experience, WLB, CoL etc.

Advice appreciated: I am currently interviewing for a job that I really want which is expected to take three more weeks. But the internal transfer that I requested is seeing traction and somehow moving faster than I thought. (Had a chat with the partner and he directly contacted HR to initiate the process. Did not expect things to move this quickly)
Should I keep pursuing both in case something doesn’t work out? Or should I withdraw from one or put a hold on transfer? Don’t want to burn bridges

Need some advice. Got an offer this weekend but due to some family stuff recently, staying in the same city is my first choice. Is it possible to use the offer to help get an interview with for a more local role? For example, reaching out to someone (partner or director) and saying I have an offer but willing to take a lesser offer to stay local?

Hey fish, I’m coming up on a year post PhD and this job has drained a lot out of me. There’s not a lot I enjoy: overpromising partners, annoying clients, endless iterations (from either client or partner), poorly scoped KOL interviews, long hours… The only reason I haven’t quit is the US healthcare system’s reliance on employer provided insurance. Where can I go with ~1YOE post PhD? It feels like nearly every job requires a lot more and I just don’t have it in me to push through another 1-2y…

I had a really good interview with three partners last week and was told another partner would be following up for a second. Sent thank you emails that night. One partner replied reiterating the fourth would reach out. I waited a week and nothing, so I followed up with recruiter and on a whim, checked my junk mail folder. Unbeknownst to me, fourth partner emailed night of first interview. I’ve sent emails and left a voicemail today but haven’t heard back. Am I screwed?!

When you interview with a Consultant/2 SM/Partner on the same day - who has the most power to make a decision? Is it a point system breakdown? I know I did well with the with all except 1 SM. Now I’m wondering if all have to like/approve me for an offer

I applied for the Logistics and Distribution Practice at KPMG and after 6 rounds of interviews, I got a call from the recruiter saying the partner felt like I’d be a better fit for the trade and customs group under Tax and that they would introduce me to the recruiter. Has that ever happen to anyone here ? If so did you have to go through another set of interviews with them ? Or does anyone know someone that went through that and know how the process was ?

Hello! I have an interview with EY tomorrow for Transformation Design and Execution (PMO). It’s a super day interview - behavioral/case study/technical/partner. All 4 in one day. Any input on what they typically ask or what the case study is about? I have no idea how to fully prepare. If anyone can give me examples, thanks a lot! :)

What to expect with partner/MD interview? Senior level. It's been a while since I've done this..

I applied to BCG at the end of July as an experienced hire and didn't get an interview (just the Pymetrics then a rejection email). A partner was referring me. Should I assume my resume needs major improvement or that my timing for applying was bad (i.e. maybe they'd already completed their experienced hiring for the year)?

I'll probably apply again in a year or so and just want to know what I should be working on.

Also, any idea about how many interviews rounds are required? Read on a post from last year that there are two interviews with SMs for anything below manager. Manager and above would require interviewing with a partner. Any insight on if this is still valid?

I have an hour long interview with a Partner at Accenture - Strategy & Consulting. The recruiter said it was just going to be “general conversation” but the SM who interviewed me in the previous round mentioned he was an expert in the niche area that I’m being hired for. What should I expect? Should I be expecting technical knowledge-based questions?

So LEK seems to be on a hiring drive - how selective is the process, especially in Europe? Eg for every X candidates who make it past the first informal partner chat to the case/behavioral interviews, how many get offers?

I Would like to know what would make a candidate standout here. I already did 3 interviews and now have the final round Partner interviews this week. Is it normal to interview with the managing partner of a firm?

The partner has scheduled a call after the final interview, would it be a nice rejection? lol

Currently interviewing for Jr. Positions with my partner. Is it better to shoot for a higher salary and then work down? Or would you just get dismissed for unrealistic expectations? Any tips for handling the salary talk?

I am applying to law school and reaching out to folks at my BL firm for recommend letters. I have 2 so far: one from a sr. associate and one from my manager, both who know me very well. I also have a letter from a professor. Would it be superfluous to request a letter from a partner (former co-head of practice group)? The partner is very supportive and even asked if I could be enticed to come back to the firm after school. Most schools only require 2-3 letters. Is there a con to having more?
