Anyone transitioned out of tax to a senior financial analyst role?

I just started my new Job as a Jr.Data Analyst in March, I am still learning on the job and want to also master a few tools such as SQL and Tableau. The difficult part of the situation is we don’t really use those tools on our current project, plus I am now receiving interest from other companies offering to pay a higher salary. I am skilled at Excel but I am worried about taking the risk to leave my full time for a contract position that might not work out if they need more skills on the job.

I need some advice with regards to my career path. I did my MBA in finance in 2020. I had my career path figured out but due to the pandemic I couldn't start my job in the finance role that I was placed in. From January I have been working as a research analyst in a research company. What are the possible options for me going forward. Are there any courses for strategic consultancy which I could pursue to enhance my CV and have a successful career in this field? Need some guidance.

Any junior people that consider themselves Gov budget experts or have similar experience in here? My boutique is hiring a senior analyst. We do CDD and strategy work and have great hours.

How tricky is the move from strategy consulting to investment banking if you’ve done previous internships in IB? I am currently a junior consultant thinking of applying for an analyst role at a bank. Company is all pro.

Wanted an opinion on how the demoted designation affects the resume.

Offer help. I have 3 years in consulting and make 140k. I was laid off from ACN Strategy as an analyst and able to sell myself hard to another company. ACN wants me back, and will match my salary, but I am also getting offers from Firms for around 210 from different “boutique” consultancy and some T2.

Should I go back to ACN, make manager and look for an exit?

Should I join Deloitte Strategy as a SC make manager and exit?

What does it take to enter into a PM role from an analyst level role at a consulting firm? Are other roles in big tech more lucrative or popular from a consulting background standpoint? What level of coding knowledge is required for these roles?

A recruiter reached out to me for a Program Analyst position at Google. The Job Description seems to require 4 years in consulting, but glassdoor salary for Program Analyst is not at that level at all (only $70-100k/year).

Can someone tell me about the “Business Analyst” role at EY? Where I come from analysts and consultants are different animals. I’m a consultant now, but was actively recruited for a “position” at EY. After the initial convo I received an invitation for a formal interview for a business analyst position… Which in my mind is a step down from consultant. Any insight? Also, what’s the culture over there? Weekly hours? Management? It’s flattering that one of the Big4 is after me but is it worth it..

2 YOE doing primarily CDD/IT DD/Tech DDs. Degree in engineering physics. Feel I need to switch in order to not burn out. Obvious choice is data analyst with my degree but don’t feel like throwing away 2 YOE going back to entry level with pay cut - and not interested in the job. Got an offer for a Strategy Analyst position at a non-profit. I'm really excited about the role/company but they have bad glassdoor reviews (though most are from non relevant positions). Should I risk it for the "dream role"?

I have two years of internal audit experience in a 500 company and I am relocating to a financial analyst role within the company. However, I think I still need the public accounting experience in big4 to get a long-term competency. I want to apply big 4 staff auditor after I pass the rest two CPA exams. I know I can’t get the experienced auditor position since I don’t have public accounting experience. I had my master in accounting. Will I be qualified for the entry level auditor in big4?

Hi you guys. I have been thinking for sometime to make a career change. Presently I’m a technical recruiter - hiring in the Salesforce Practice. For sometime now I have been thinking of making a change into Salesforce Business Analyst. Has anyone made a transition as such? Any tips? How should I approach it? I find myself stuck because I just don’t know where to start. There are so many certs. I don’t have a background as a B.A. etc, etc.

About to leave for a new opportunity, and thinking about exit interviews.

I’ve heard that it’s best to keep it diplomatic and maintain good relations long term, but to be honest burn-out, poor WLB, a disappointing enterprise-wide 1st year analyst experience, and a nightmare manager are all reasons why I am leaving.

I genuinely want the firm to reflect on this feedback (and other similar feedback from analysts leaving the firm), but understand the risks.

Should I just keep quiet, or speak up?
