Any thoughts on whether the lateral market will slow down any time soon? Junior associate who wants to re-locate to bigger market. Concern is that I haven’t been in my current role for a full year yet, so each added month of experience looks better on the resume, but I also don’t want to miss out on the hot market. Current role is more a post-clerkship holdover during covid than a long term fit

Senior associates- I have a lateral offer at Cravath scale firm for a special counsel role- 1200 billable, off partnership track, but paid base salary (no bonuses unless hours are significantly higher than expected). Would I be crazy to consider taking this instead of staying in my current role (senior associate, partnership track but have no guarantees at this point, billing 2000/yr with cravath-scale bonuses)? Is it career suicide?

MBB Associate / Consultant (4 YOE, 2 post MBA) in India. Spent 2 years at my firm and would make manager / PL end of next year. Have an offer for an 'Analyst' role in Amsterdam for a large consumer goods company's strategy team. The company's great but the role is entry level, which is a little annoying. Any thoughts? Definitely want to exit ASAP and talking to a few other companies - all for Manager level roles. The hook here is Amsterdam + the brand.

Hi! I received an offer as a financial analyst for $86k base in Seattle (with stock options and bonus, annual income will be ~$110k). However, right now I’m making $115k base comp in SF as senior tax associate. I think H1B doesn’t care about total comp package, just base salary - will it be difficult to transfer the h1b to a lower salary position? Thank you!

Currently a C at Deloitte with 2.5 YOE, not in strategy. I am considering an offer from Strategy& for an Associate level position with 100K base. This salary is almost equal to what I currently make, so the only benefit would be the brand and firmly positioning myself in strategy, where I want to be. But I would also lose my network and various other benefits by leaving D now. It seems like I should reject it and try to move into Strategy at D until I find something better. Thoughts?

Junior corp associate at a V50 firm in NY. Just received offer a few days ago in Charlotte, a city I really want to live. However, the role is for cap mkts /asset securitization and esoteric assets, e.g., auto loans, railroad, etc. I value having some work life balance. I heard the hours in asset securitization / esoteric assets can be awful. The work is very complex / niche. Does this sound about right? I’m tempted to continue search in CLT even though this a top tier firm. Any thoughts? Thx!

How do you about the compensation drop? Currently make 95k and role im interested in is offering 80k. I’m a great fit and they really like me but the industry doesn’t have margins like consulting. Can I push to come in as a ‘senior associate’ instead of just an associate and see what they can do

I'll have an interview with 3 tax experts at BDO for tax associate position. I think this is an entry-level position for tax but please correct me if Im wrong. Is this interview hard?
