I am a L10 at Accenture and am on track for promotion to L9 by the fall. I’m wondering if it’s worth it to stick around for the new salary and the network I’ve built here or if I should switch to another firm. I’m considering an Associate position with KPMG offering around $85K with likely promotion to Senior Associate in around a year (2022) and a Consultant position with EY offering $110K with likely promotion to manager in around 2 years (2023). I currently make $82K + bonus. Thoughts?

What pay scale are we looking at for NY based IT Strategy Associate role at KPMG? Currently, the applicant is working at another big 4 and is skilled with low-code automation building. Been in consulting for a little over 1.5 years. Thanks!

Was told today that going in-house from biglaw means it’s very difficult/impossible to go back if day after a few years it turns out the grass is not greener. For those of you who have gone in-house and gone back to biglaw, would love to hear your perspective, why you went back, and if it was a challenge to get back. For the biglaw partners, do you have issues hiring someone from in-house, especially with biglaw experience? Fwiw, I’m a 6th year corporate associate whose always been at a firm

Big4 as Associate or Top 10 as Senior

My career goal is to stay in TAS at least until Manager and then maybe go the consulting or corp dev route. Currently A1 in TAS at a top regional firm at 63k. I have the opportunity to jump ship to Big4 as an A2 for 83k in TAS or go to a top 10 TAS (BDO, RSM, GT) for 85k as a senior. I'm in a HCOL.
Question is, should I take an A2 spot at big4 or a senior role at the top 10 firm? Any insight is appreciated, thanks!

Folks, how is the work pressure at EY India Tech Consulting wing for a Consultant position associate? Been hearing alot of negative reviews out on the internet. Anyone from EY can comment on this? I'm used to working 8-9hours thanks to being in a shorthanded team always or managing my work within the said time but the reviews just seem scary enough 😑
I have a couple of other offers so I don't want to really walk into the fire if I can avoid it lol.

How feasible is it to go from 2 years in BizOps at a Post-IPO tech company (I.e. Snowflake, Cloudera, Datadog, Qualtrics, MongoDB) to VC Associate role? 3 years prior experience in T2 consulting before that FWIW

Decision time. Exiting with 2 YoE.

BizOps at top pre-IPO unicorn (TC 180k in SF, more with stock depending on IPO) vs. VC Associate in a 500MM fund (TC 170k + carry in a T2 city)? Hours will be better in the unicorn, and has good upside, but VC roles are even harder to come by and may position me for future opportunities.

The company hired someone who was a Senior Associate at my firm as a Consultant last year - I am a Consultant so would expect to come in as at least a Consultant. Typically it looks like one needs 3 YOE for the Consultant and I have ~2 years 9 months so close.

At the same time, the compensation is still a raise, the company is more prestigious, and the role is in the city I want so want to take it but don’t want to shortchange myself.

New-ish to Chicago and looking to pivot into management/strategy consulting (tier 2 to boutique). I have an MBA and an MIM (international 🇫🇷)and a little experience in consulting. Interview tomorrow for a tax associate opening at RSM. Been working in a mid-size city (different firm) that is about 70 minutes from this new home office in a larger metro. How flexible is WFH or dual model going forward post Covid? Am interested in this position and going to tax, but not be able to relocate for family reasons. Don’t want to drive 700 miles per week M-F. What will dual model be like going forward? 1-2 times week, 4-5 month? Seems like tax was more flexible than audit pre-Covid

What type of salary should I say if I was asked about expectations for an LA based SOC related position? I’m a first year associate until the summer.

As a mid-level associate, what is an appropriate amount of notice to give your firm when you leave? I’m running a couple deals right now and do not want to leave my team in a bind...so 2 weeks seems far too short. That said, I also want to take some actual time off before starting a new role. Not sure how much time new employer is willing to give me before starting...I suspect max 6 weeks.

I'm an in-house counsel at a national company. Our GC is leaving. I’m the only other in-house attorney, and I’ve only been here for 4 months. I like the job. Previously, I was a 6th-year associate.

I’m a senior associate at an Amlaw100 firm in a specialty group. The vast majority of what we do is compliance, with a deal sprinkled in once in a while. Thinking of lateraling to an Amlaw 30 firm because the comp gap is enormous. I’m solidly on partner track at my firm - next 2 years or so - but the pay at the other firm is higher than the junior partner at my firm. New role would involve significantly more deal work. Any insights on lifestyle changes going to a specialty deal support position?

I currently have offers for both EY and RSM for Financial Due Diligence as a Senior Associate in a HCOL area (NY, San Fran). Assuming I get paid the same, does anyone think one offer would be better than the other? Being a HCOL, I know there will be more hours for either role but not sure if there are other factors I am not considering. Is anyone able to provide any insight about either firm to help make this decision?
