Any agency hiring Sr strategy/creative strategy consultant?

If I just got a job for a senior creative position at an okay indie agency, but then got an offer from an in house creative department for a CD role a month into my new role, would it be bad to take it? Is it a bit of a shit bloke thing to do?

As a young professional, how can I work on meatier briefs?
I was hoping to work on some spec briefs for awards, outside of my role as a junior at the agency. However, most of the competitions are either for students or for agencies/published work.

Also please feel free to suggest some of the other ways you've been staying creative outside of your jobs.

Anyone have inside scoop on Omnicom? I had a recruiter reach out for a role (not creative) working with a client but not part of an agency. I didn’t realize Omnicom managed clients outside of agencies? Is that a thing there?

Is Creative hiring getting any better in NYC?

I’ve worked at some top agencies as a creative but still early in my career. Got an offer at Tiktok. Worried about making the switch, but no agency is hiring right now and I was laid off. Can I go back to agency life when this is all over? Is Tiktok even a respected company given all the suspicions surrounding them?

Besides hiring a new actually talented creative director, how have earned PR peeps explained “mediability” to creatives? I feel like mine keeps giving us the most mediocre ideas then gets super defensive when we try to explain why they won’t work.

I currently work at a network agency that's not producing much and what they're making isn't great.

I've got an offer from an indie - they're offering a senior role with more money, their culture is great, but their creative leadership isn't well known, the work is pretty average / on par with the output of my current agency.

Is going to the indie detrimental to my career given I'm losing the prestige of a network, and aren't making up for it with better work / leadership to learn from?

When your mother wants to have a condescending argument when I tell her that I’m not qualified for the “creative director” position she sent from craigslist. Then continues to say, ‘well you don’t know until you try’. When I tell her I’m not qualified, she responds, ‘okay well you’re not qualified lets move on to a other topic’. Considering I’m a recently laid off junior, and she doesn’t seem to understand the ladder of career development. 🙄🙄🙄 Save me!

I’ve been thinking of switching from Account to Creative since I started working in Advertising. I truly enjoy my job/agency but I feel that my true passion lies with Art Direction. I’ve worked at 3 big agencies with 4 years experience so I feel like I know what I’m getting myself into and how the role can vary from one agency to the next.

Hi everyone! I’ve applied for a junior designer position at Sid Lee Toronto. I’ve also Inmailed the recruiter, and emailed the creative director 😅 But haven’t gotten a response. Does anybody have any tips or connections for how I can raise the chances of my portfolio and resume to being seen by them?

I was laid off last month but now in the final interview stage for two very different opportunities.

First opp is a digital agency and they asked if I’d consider a part-time contract gig with the “goal to hire” in 60 days, depending on the COVID impact. So no guarantee for a full-time offer. Second opp is a client side marketing role at a publicly traded company that has been somewhat recession-proof. Culture is very corporate and a bit conservative (not creative).

What would you choose?

I have been on the search committee at my agency for 3 months. We have been hiring many positions and , unfortunately, having to reject people. The only people who consistently respond to perfectly cordial rejections in nasty, immature ways are Creative Directors.

Option 1: a more senior, better paying role but less creative shop —OR —-Option 2: stay put at more creative shop where I’m well respected, have job security, but no immediate opportunities for better title/more money —- I’m 15 years into my career. What would you choose?

Anyone hiring creative teams in Chicago?

So what’s the story with all of these very senior diversity and inclusion officers at many of the big advertising agencies? Have they accomplished the hiring of more diverse staff? Or are they just for show? Ours has been here for a few years and there hasn’t been one more African American strategic planner, creative, or account executive hired in that time. Has this position made a difference for people?

What are some creative non-traditional exit opps with a decent salary? Thinking along the lines of fashion/luxury retail, events coordination, etc. Really sick of typical finance/tech/HF/VC roles.

I’m, technically, a Jr but being paid as a Mid because I had a great mentor who believed in me. I’m now moving on to an actual Mid role but have no idea if I should ask for a higher salary because if I do, I’ll basically be asking for close to a Sr Creative’s salary. At the same time, I don’t want to seem like I can be taken advantage of or a pushover if I don’t ask for more. Any advice on how I can navigate this?

Any PMs made the transition from a “traditional” digital creative agency to a pharma specific one? I would normally never consider pharma but I need to make a jump and no creative agencies are hiring.
