Got laid off a few months ago. Financially secure and in no rush to find new work right away. Have been spending the summer getting all my affairs in order and had been planning on going to a wedding abroad in the fall then spending the winter and spring in Asia... which is starting to seem less and less plausible. Don’t want to be bored and cold all winter long. What would you do?

Recently laid off - firing away job applications with literally 0 interview responses. Literally don’t know what to do

Should I delay joining Deloitte or join in sept?Interviewed for Deloitte in March and accepted an offer for June start date. Bcoz of pandemic the joining was pushed back to Nov/Dec.But last month HR reached out asking if I’m okay joining 2 months earlier(although no concrete projects are decided for me yet)

Is there anyone at Leidos, CACI or Raytheon in the DC Metro who wants to refer my husband? He's in final adjudication for his TS/SCI with Full Scope Poly, but his entire team was laid off (COVID). Looking for another contractor to pick up his clearance sponsorship so they can use his intelligence and language skills (and so he doesn't have to start the clearance process from scratch).

Team was laid off. I was moved to a different service line. New service line manager salary is 10-20% higher than my current salary. No performance based raises this year at my firm. My utilization is low as I’m spending time getting caught up. Glad to still have a job but should I bring up a salary adjustment? Current plan is to wait until my utilization is on par with the rest of the team.

My sister got laid off and is interviewing with BAE Systems and Guidehouse. She was working for a small company doing (federal) business analyst-type work. I don’t know much about either but hoping to get some answers from people who do so I can help her out. Anyone know about WLB, salary, culture? She has 5 YOE.

I am pretty certain I'll be laid off in the next 2 months, and am about to start a new project, with a very high-profile client and incredibly demanding work pretty much round the clock.
Do I just "go with the flow" until I get my pink slip?
I don't want to be killing myself knowing I am on my way out, but I can't exactly share this with the client either.

Wasn't sure if I should post this in Federal, but just got hired to GPS. I received a interim clearance for a public trust. My biggest concern is that I was fired from my first job after college. I was actually very shocked that I got the interim without any questioning.

My question is what does D do if you can't get a trust? Do they fire you?I want to know because I am starting to consider to move, but don't want to move to DC and not have a job...

Something’s been weighing on my mind. I messed up in a steering committee & tripped infront of the Sr. Client Stakeholders. I made a few other mistakes and was rolled off by my manager (SM) b/c I sucked and it was a higher burn engagement he needed a stronger BA. Now I find out he might’ve been laid off and I can’t help but to think it was my fault. We never really talked after this engagement but I feel like it’s my clumsiness that him fired and it makes me feel guilty and give a me anxiety.

Anyone else not care too much about getting laid off but at the same time see it as a huge inconvenience? I was looking to make a switch but opportunities are dry and I’d like to leave on my own terms

Hi All, I was impacted with the Covid related layoffs at Deloitte. I am reaching out to you all for help finding a new job. I have 13+ yrs of experience in financial and risk management domain with excellent program management skills. The problem with the job market today is that so many folks are applying to each job and the hr does not even get to review all of the resumes. I need your help with getting my resume to the right hands and to the right teams through referral. Cont:

If you got a bad first performance review (actually bad, so figure a 1 or 2 out of 5, but no PIP and given the chance to improve, and also told it’s fine because first review), and you’re not getting fired over it, would you put a lot of effort into trying to move firms once you’re able to say you have a year of experience, or would you just try to improve your reputation at the firm you’re already at, since leaving after 1 year isn’t generally ideal?

How can one recover their career when being transitioned out for "low performance"? Seems they are trying to hide covid-related layoffs with an increase in "performance management" layoffs.

How are y’all feeling about the no bonus no raise situation? KPMG here, not too bothered but also can’t help but compare my org with other big 4, that managed their financials way better and can afford bonuses and pay rises and no layoffs for their employees (of course partner pay is getting impacted I’m sure to save the workforce). I wonder where we went wrong, and if the lake house investment (which we will not be using for two years, was a good investment)...

Someone I know applied for an SC position with a fake resume. Literally no IT experience. Apparently recruiter bought it and scheduled a second round with a PPMD. I can't accept the fact that our colleagues are getting laid off and yet people like these get an opportunity to join the firm. Any thoughts?

Firm (boutique ) just announced a firm-wide reduction to 3 days a week (it was either that or massive layoffs). I’m very scared about the future, I love consulting very much and can’t imagine exiting, any suggestions on:

1. What to do with the extra time
2. How to find a consulting gig in the current times

Avoidance of travel is such a double edged sword. I'm traveling (personal, moving) for the first time in months and I feel awful for the helpful, hard working and professional flight crews that are working through this under the spectre of layoffs. Sometimes it's small like an extra drink, but I have countless times it's been a phone falling out of my pocket under seats or calling with customer care internally if something goes wrrong.

Laid off a handful of months ago. Recently got a verbal offer from my dream company. They hit my salary reqs, type of work, everything. The catch: they can’t extend an official offer until January bc of Covid. I’m continuing to look bc of the risk that they back out or can’t in January. The verbal offer in the air + my general struggle with imposter syndrome make it really hard for me to stay motivated daily to look. I need to just man up and power through to deliver to myself.

Laid off by Deloitte and although having immediate rehire eligibility (pmd said this) firm is sparsely hiring. Got a director level role in industry and am psyched to start soon! Learned a lot at the firm and am excited for my next opportunity.

How do you think your company is faring the new market conditions, and do you think the measures taken have been fair? So far at KPMG no layoffs, but no bonus or merit increases. Promotion increases are still happening, but hard to tell if promotions are going to be that common. Overall I believe the firm has done a good job of communication of measures taken both economically and logistically (not returning to office till at least 2021).

How's Accenture strategy doing? Layoffs? Hiring freeze?
