Which Big 4 has handled Layoff, Bonus, Hikes etc during Pandemic ( From March of this year till date). Also which Big 4 would be good Firm to join in future ? I am from Tech Consulting services , please vote.

So I’m about to join another firm in a new strategic group at a higher level. I have a background in technology (functional roles), Ops, and some strategy experience. I’m just worried because I have a limited amount of strategy experience that I won’t be able to perform as most of them have pure Strategy & Ops experience, but they were looking to bring on some technical talent. I don’t want to get laid off.

Was laid off and just found out that cobra is going to cost $500/mo for just me. No wonder people just don’t pay for health insurance in America.

Is it ok to send a goodbye emails to the people you have a good relationship with even though you were laid off?

So I know that a lot of people are saying that EY is doing non performance based layoffs but I'm having a hard time believing that considering that I was just placed on a PIP last week. Why would the firm keep someone who's put on a PIP and drop perfectly good employees instead? Doesn't make a lot of sense if you ask me

Let’s say I moved to a new state in Jan 2020 to take a new position with my existing company (new job at same company). I get laid off in July 2020 by this company. I was going to leave end of August 2020 anyway due to starting an MBA program, and they knew this. Am I eligible for unemployment for July and August?

I’m trying to fix my resume, so I can be fully prepared if more layoffs happen at ACN. I really want to include client names, rather than a long description. I know about the NDAs, but what if we’re not disclosing confidential info and the partnership is public? What do you guys suggest? I really want my resume to be noticed.

At D feeling guilty for avoiding layoffs as I haven’t worked more than an hour a week since WFH began. I automated almost all of my work and told nobody. My PPMD thinks these analyses take hours when in reality I change a few variables in my boilerplate code and say I’m “managing data integrity” for hours

We all know it’s harder, but haven’t had the experience of applying while unemployed. For those with this experience, all other things equal, as a percent (for example, 200% harder), how much harder would you say it is to find a new job 2 months after being unemployed vs. finding a job while still at the company you will be laid off from in a couple months?

My brother was fired for “performance” last week after 1 YOE at a boutique. He suspects the real reason is CV19. He is quite down, and feels his career is over. 🐠-any words of advice to offer him?

My lease is ending & I’m expecting a lay-off soon (this is specific to me, not the firm doing layoffs). Issue is, I can’t move in my with elderly parents due to the high risk of covid. I’m going insane in a studio so I’m thinking to get a larger apartment for a few more $ hundred a month. Is that a horrible decision? I figure I have to live somewhere during this so might as well be comfortable while at home.

Looking at all of the layoffs, promotions, and lack of promotions at Deloitte...it really makes me wonder what the YE process is truly like. We have people laid off get immediately hired to Apple, questionable people getting promotions, and verifiably high performers not get their target promos. There has to be something that I am not seeing? Thoughts???

Was put on PIP coz of last year's util%.
Currently having intermin above expectations in PIP. PIP POC says BPOC(SM I haven't worked with) fired on him for giving a good feedback and asked to set unrealistic expectations w/o - clarity in requirements, supporting docs(tho they have it) and feedback.
I have recorded the calls with PIP POC & coach telling that they can't go against BPOC and give a good feedback despite I meeting all the expectations.
Should I show the rcrding to MD/HR?
