Thinking about trying to find a full-remote job due to my partner applying to residencies at a lot of hospitals not in cities I could transfer to or that don’t have any Big4 at all. Is there anyone out there who’s done or is doing something like this? How do you like it? How did you find it?
Background: I am in Accounting Advisory Services, and love technical accounting so might struggle with a basic accounting position at a small company, but not sure what else to look for in my situation.

Would you take a fully remote job for a pay cut? Or you think should get paid more since you are not using any resources in the office?

From the physical standpoint, I know you can rent out spaces so you don’t have to wfh all the time but I value camaraderie. At my last new job I started during the pandemic, I was able to make one work friend and we’d do Zoom lunches and stuff. It helped to a degree but idk if I can last 1-3 years never working with another person in-person.

If you book a remote job at a project rate (and had based that rate on available hours during Mon-Fri), but now the client is expecting you to work over the weekend, how would you handle that?

Here’s the scenario; I’ve been offered a remote job for a company based in NYC. I currently live in Philadelphia. Can someone help me understand what my take home pay after taxes looks like?

For example, if the salary offer is $90k, what does my overall tax deductions look like in this situation? Gross pay and total taxes.

If one already has a WFH job until the end of year, but gets another offer that would be WFH until the end of year, is it illegal or unethical to work both jobs at the same time knowing they’ll leave the first company when having to go back into the office?

Since there are apparently no jobs in London, has anyone had any luck being hired for a remote job where the understanding is that you will never be in their office? For example, a job outside London/the UK with no intention of moving? I’ve heard this touted as the future of hiring but have never actually heard of it happening in real life.

My bf is English, he came for me in France but struggle to find a job. He used to be an admin officer. At the end of 2019, he went to a tech boot camp to follow an intensive course to become a full stack developer.
The big issue is that he finished his course in January but still struggle to find a job. He is open to remote job but still, can't find anything.

I wonder if at some point people will stop listing their address on their resumes for remote jobs. As someone from a “tier 3” city applying, I’m thinking I will face bias against my address in either aptitude expectation or salary suppression. Validity?

Rant: I hate it so much in consulting but I’m too scared to leave during a recession and pandemic. My soul drains more and more each day. I don’t want to live for the weekend or to climb a ladder. I can’t wait till the economy stabilizes so I can find a remote job externally so I can move back in with my parents, save money, and work on the craft of film and music production.

What will rebounding after COVID look like? After layoffs, office closures etc. How long could it take to break back in now that networking opportunities have changed, offices are remote, hiring and positions open are limited in comparison to the numbers let go? How realistically will people not be able to reclaim a job in this industry? How long is too long of gap due to COVID and will companies ie (young recruitment teams who are naive) overlook thise gaps due to the economy?

Have any companies started more remote hiring? I’m in Atlanta and would love to stay if possible. My understanding is for now most of Facebook, Twitter remote working claims are still for existing employees, is that right?
