I'm very reserved and when small talk comes up within a group (3-5ppl), I just sit there like a fly on the wall. I don't excuse myself from the zoom call cos I find THAT rude, but if I'm just sitting there and not contributing isn't THAT rude too?

I'm just here to work, talk through how we get things done, GET it done, & clock out. Can we focus pls?

Hoping the PM for Microsoft Teams sees this…why when someone uses an emoji in a chat do I have to go to activities in order to clear the notification?

I started a new job a month ago and I hate it! I hate the culture (there is no culture) the way that they communicate (no meetings everything in slack) and the way that they work (alone) It feels pretty much like I am freelancing and I thrive in collaborative environment. I have never felt this isolated in my whole life. It sucks.
Has anyone been in that situation? If I look for another job, should I remove that experience from my linked in? Or should I talk about that if I get interviews?

I have a zoom interview but need to be in the office that day. I work near grand central. Where can I sit for this interview? Concerned about noise of course.

What is your favorite PM tool for singular but large projects and what is your flow?

E.g.
Microsoft Teams (with add ons: planner, etc)
Create team for whole project team and a channel for each sub-workstream, assign tasks and sure dates with planner

Is there an extension I can use for Zoom, Meets, etc. where my laptop can act as a Bluetooth control device to manage microphone, see chat, make presentations, etc? I use Zoom/Meets on my phone with mobile data because my home internet is too slow for video signal, but it's annoying to access the chat, see presentations in small font, and turn my mic on/off from my chair feet away, and it's difficult to make presentations. Is my best bet just using both devices, one without audio/video?

On Zoom I would so much rather see someone’s messy, actual room in the background than one of those weird, fake fancy rooms backgrounds people use.

I work in an old school company that does not allow anyone to work remote except for management if necessary. Ever since the pandemic started, it’s been a regular day reporting to work and sitting in the office all day. Due to Covid, we decided it’s best to not meet in person but stay in our desk and talk via Teams/zoom. I am now struggling on finding a remote job because I don’t have any remote work experience. Question on appropriate workplace behavior:
During a zoom preliminary injunction hearing, our client began “word-vomiting” on cross examination. My partner, who was probably aiming for our client, then kicked me under the table. I’m young and went straight to law school after undergrad, so I don’t know if this is inappropriate or not a big deal. Is this a red flag for my current firm? Thanks for your thoughts.

Can I get some advice on how to tell my coworker to back off? I'm a woman, who has ADD and RBF which together can make me seem more aggressive than I actually am. Which is fine. I'm fine with it, people warm up to me and relax, etc. Except this one coworker from a different org I meet with about once per month. He is constantly telling me to smile more on zoom calls, giving me weird tips to make me 'seem friendlier'. My attitude doesn't impact my work, so I don't think it's his business.
