Type of attire recommended for zoom interview with GC for an in-house role? Not big tech with a more obvious casual dress standard. Button-down shirt enough? Jacket?

While speaking with a manager trying to describe micromanagement from a team member, my role as a senior designer was described in paraphrase as, “Well as directors we are designers too, and so you become the Wacom tool, and we can sit next to you and tell you how to design the project or live direct the development over zoom”. I reiterated that this doesn’t reflect trust or respect in my abilities and my role was again described as a tool.

Hi all, would anyone want to practice cases over Zoom sessions? I have Mck EM and BCG PL/Principal interviews coming up in 3 weeks and I want to be well-prepped.

Lately most days I just simply can't be bothered to work past 6pm. My client work gets done, but I think I'm probably putting in less BD work than my peers and I can't find the motivation to pick up my own slack. How do you push past the apathy especially with WFH to get more done than what's explicitly required of you?

How to deal with colleagues in office who try to book unnecessary zoom meetings and ask to join zoom call whitout no solid meeting agenda?
Joining and attending zoom meetings make me feel less productive and I can’t concentrate on my work 😓

Any good satellite modem + data solution? Will need to take zoom calls while taking holidays on a live aboard in some remote Indonesian places. Wondering if fishes here have done that before.

I had bad TBI last year and still feel off.

Don't like silence. Can't stand it. Especially in zoom when no one answers questions. I'll answer even if I don't really know or was half paying attention. Worst, I have a divergence with the speed at which my brain is spewing words and the pace I speak. It can be difficult to articulate and I'll stumble over my words or I have to stop myself then rephrase my question since it can be multiple thoughts.

My wife says I need to be evaluated...

Do you bill the entire mediation time on zoom? Or just the times the mediator is speaking to you and your client? Seems odd to stop the timer every time they speak to opposing counsel & restart every time the mediator appears and obviously if you were in person you wouldn’t be able to leave

Is it frowned upon to message client employees regarding open roles? Stumbled upon a slack group for announcements for internal/external hiring for roles. Very much interested to apply directly/network with hiring managers.

Suddenly I feel self-conscious about it but is it bad that I didn't adjust my skin tone on my reactions in WebEx and slack ? Just default which is yellow .

Since moving in house from PP I’ve been astounded at how often business folks want to set up a zoom call to walk through contracts and rewrite language on the fly. Not only is it terribly inefficient, it leaves virtually no time to actually think through things, especially when dealing with long, complicated contracts for things like software purchases. Just wondering if anyone has any good tips for how to politely point out to people how bad of a process that is, assuming others face the same?

If you want to network with a Senior Manager/Partner for a role you are interested in - is it considered unprofessional to IM over skype/teams to ask to set-up a call? Or would you reach over email?

The CEO caught an attitude w/ me bc I didn’t know the answer to his question. He removed me from a public Slack channel. That Friday, my supervisor schedules a meeting and presents a two page performance review. I received mostly 2’s on a scale of 5. I have 2 WEEKS to change it.

I am on my second project 6 months in and I am ready to leave. The toxic work habits is insane. I’ve tried everything to try to reduce recycle and redundancies. Tagging in teams, zoom working sessions. Regardless, we got in circles and work late hours simply because the SMs (yes 2) don’t give us their attention and change their minds constantly. Coming from industry to this the money was better but it’s starting to be less and less worth it

What do most fishes use for Zoom / Teams meeting? Do you use your computer audio or do you have Zoom call your cellphone and connect to audio that way?

Any advice on getting Google Meet to work with my wired webcam from Wyrestorm? It works perfectly well with Zoom and other video call services but Google Meet simply won’t recognize it.

Has anyone here interviewed for a recruiter coordinator role? I had a phone screen call and was moved to the second interview which will be through Zoom. Any tips? Any idea what kind of questions will it be ?

I’ve associated Skype pings asking how I’m doing with more work coming my way. Just skip the bs and ask me what you need.

I have blue light coating on my glasses lenses. They reflect something terrible for zoom calls. What coatings have people found perform well for zoom/teams/google meets calls? I’m thinking adding anti-reflective would do the trick.

How long does the interviewing process at JPMC usually take? (Trust Admin Associate) I’ve had three interviews on zoom with the Hiring Manager/MD, and members of the team. I felt like I crushed every interview but there has been 2 weeks of silence and no answers to my follow up emails. I have other offers in hand but JPM is my top choice if I got the offer. I love the company I work at but they are forcing everyone to return to office after two years working fully remote and the most successful eight quarters the company has had in years. People are leaving left and right forcing me and other team members to pick up the slack. For many reasons I do not want to return to office and they are standing firm on their policy. It has forced me to consider other opportunities. Anyone have any recommendations on remote opportunities?
