I am currently at a company I have been at for 7 years and I get vested into a pension at 10 years. The pension is good but I do not enjoy my work anymore and there is limited to no mobility at my level. I was recently offered a global hrbp role for 30k more than I am making now. I’m not sure what to do! Do I stick out 3 years for the pension or take this new position?
I'm getting really burnt out with the billing requirements at my Work Comp Insurance Defense firm.
We are required to bill 60 hours per week. I am curious what the billing requirement at other defense firms is and if this seems about normal or if it is high/low compared to other places.
I'm thinking about looking for other opportunities that are less demanding and allow for better work-life balance.

Sometimes I feel like a significant portion of associates’ work related misery is not due to demands of their clients or partners, but due to associates themselves b/c they decided to be “perfectionist” and “super detail oriented” even for things that don’t really create additional value, when clients don’t give a crap as long as the work looks presentable enough and we get their deals done.

I’m a first-time prospective lateral likely to get an offer shortly. I just received a lateral questionnaire that requests billable hours, rates, fees collected, etc. for the last three years. Forgive my ignorance but is this normal/standard? Do people actually answer these honestly? One of the reasons I’m leaving my firm is there isn’t enough work in my group so of course my hours are low.
Mondays are exhausting 😴
