This is probably an odd question, but i just found out that the professor who is teaching a tax class I’m in for school, is the Tax manager from a local firm who is assigned to our taxes as a company (I’ve worked with him regarding our taxes).

This isn’t like conflict of interest or anything right?

I work with quite a few oldheads in my department, I’d like to know how to convince the higher-ups that we need to evolve our strategies to bring us in line with best current practices. However, I don’t want to act out of line or be disrespectful since this is my first role and I have less than a year here.

I’m a second year BigLaw associate that pays market. I was offered the position at a modified salary and hourly expectation due to their expected work flow needs. I’m wondering what is the best way to approach the topic of getting on the full salary/hours. Do I wait until the bonuses are given at the end of my first year? Or bring it up at mid-year review? I have 20 days left in my notice period and I would like to know or get advised on how many days prior to joining date/led should I finalize the company from among the offers and what is a respectful time to intimate other companies that I will not be able to join their company.

Of course exceptions like last minute opportunity with a good firm or offer revision is there but in general what should be a corporate appropriate timeline.

Recieved an offer from a small company (150 employees - Services domain) which is in my native state (infopark kochi). Tey offer 21 LPA as Prod Owner.
Note: Relocation and cost of living in Blr are high but organization is established. Also wl ask to return to office shortly.

Interview tomorrow for a tax associate opening at RSM. Been working in a mid-size city (different firm) that is about 70 minutes from this new home office in a larger metro. How flexible is WFH or dual model going forward post Covid? Am interested in this position and going to tax, but not be able to relocate for family reasons.
