Bain & Company Hello Fishes.
What is the average CTC offered for a Research Associate with 1 year of experience in Healthcare consulting?
I'm looking forward for opportunities, hence would be great to know the current CTC trends to effectively negotiate with the employer.
Thanks in advance!

Hi there. Ex Deloitte Sr Mgr here, currently in tech pre sales (SaaS / MarTech). Recently spoke to both Salesforce and Adobe recruiters for roles that I thought were lateral moves (Sr SA / Sr SC), therefore I did not proceed with the selection process. The recruiters from both companies told me they typically hire at that level, and people are considered for promotion to Principal in 1 to 2 years. I found that odd. Is that right? What’s the typical TC for SAs and SCs there? (15+ yrs exp).

If your current team is amazing, they will be supportive of you leaving for a better opportunity.
As long as there are no big red flags I would make the switch.
The biggest risks are having a worse WLB and having to deal with a team you don’t like.
For me, I care more about comp than if I like my coworkers, so I wouldn’t skip on the opportunity.
I like my team, but I would jump ship for the right offer—but only at the right company. I get really nervous about leaving something that's comfortable and familiar and enjoyable for something totally unknown. Especially when it comes to job demands and work life balance.
I could stand to be paid more, but I honestly don't work all that hard (most of the time), I have an extremely flexible schedule, I really like my boss, and everything is just fine. I'd hate to leave and find I spend my days working my ass off for no recognition, no time to step away when I want to, and no real enjoyment, all for a few extra bucks.
Of course. Nothing is so black and white. One thing I like to do is interview my prospective peers as much as I can during the hiring process. Ask to talk to people in the role I'm seeking, and just get real with them. What's the onboarding like? What's the product like? How's the manager? Would you refer a friend for this job? Etc. Try to suss out the situation a bit, from someone who has no skin the game of hiring me.
What would help your career development more? Maybe just list out all the intrinsic pros vs. cons. I’m kind of going through something similar right now. My AE wants me to follow.
It is so hard leaving a great team. And the fear of the unknown doesn’t help that situation, but people come and go and I would try to focus on what would be better in the long run. I like to make a physical list of the good and the bad, helps to put it in perspective.
I look at it as have I done everything I can here. Are you being challenged? Competitors are going to be aggressive and in this market maybe you should consider it
Just do it. The company you are with will show you the door when it is time. If you are early to mid career, take every opportunity, embrace it and see where it leads.
