Accenture has just announced a ban on non essential travel for at least a year. Have any other firms done this too? Travel was the main reason I moved to consulting so am considering jumping ship now

Wow. They’re going thru it!

Have fun finding another job that will allow you travel. If that’s your main reason for consulting, you might as well become a flight attendant.

likefunnyuplifting

I like other parts of it, don't get me wrong, but that's the main USP. I'm hardly in it for the pennies I'm getting paid 😂

Start traveling again in 2 weeks. More worried about protests turning into riots than viruses though.

likesmart

In the US and they are approving travel on a client by client basis with a stack of rules like no flying and no hotels.

like

I think we’re realizing sales are... decent and expenses are way down 😂

like

We banned non-essential travel (read: non-client) until 2021 back in March or April

like

No my 2 weeks at the Q were cancelled

Till June 2021?? Where’s the announcement?

funny

Ok, but this only extends the no travel in 2020 by 2 months. Don’t panic

like

I am thinking they are waiting out the election results

like

You think that would impact it?

In my case it's all about when the federal government may want us to start traveling again. Given public pronouncements and policy, I do not anticipate getting on a plane for the givernment till spring, 2021 at the earliest - and this is coming from a position with constant travel.

Hmm, really don't know. I'm very grateful that in my case I seem to have some say in the matter regarding personal comfort level. Both Booz and my DoD client have been fantastic through it all.

like

At first I thought why this post from March is showing on my feed ..

Through the end of this year or through June 2021?

I was told they formally said Q2 but are planning to keep it until end of FY21

Where is it announced that it’s banned?? Jumping for joy but want to see it on Accenture website

Don't believe it's on a site (yet) was just a mail to MDs

So when is Accenture hiring again?

I know there's a pile of grads starting in September/October but haven't heard about experienced hires, not that we often hire many experienced people anyway tbh

Is there anything I should think about getting experience in? How should I go about making sure I am seeing enough things?

Hi - I’ve moved to Toronto (from Asia) with 5 YOE in Corporate banking + 2 YOE IB/capital markets (7 YOE in TOTAL) working roles in Front Office and financial analysis.

Believe I’d be a great fit as an Associate in the same space at the major banks (RBC, TD, Scotia, CIBC etc) or in PE/ Asset management.

Could someone help by mentioning the salary ranges I can expect?

Also any tips on networking would be appreciated. Thank you!
