Anyone actually benefited from an advisor ? My view is that each of these advisors are only in it for themselves. If you think otherwise , pls recommend one you have benefited from to me. Thank you

I think it depends on your goals. I defined very specific goals for two advisors and they each came back with proposals. I selected the one that I thought had the best plan. I’m mid 50s and was lucky looking to reduce risk with minimal reduction in upside potential.

We moved a portion of my holdings from equities to private real estate funds and sold covered calls/bought puts to protect gains in some highly appreciated holdings. In 2022 when the market was down 20%, I was down about 6%. However this year when the market is up 27%, I’m up about 20%. So the idea is to reduce volatility and downside risk but I miss out on some gains when the market is up a lot. This year, my call options we built such that I miss out in gains over 18% in a portion of my holdings.

Hi all, I’m in the north east metro area and due to the current RE market we decided to look into PA specifically Lancaster. Anyone in this market and have any thoughts on where it’s headed? We’re looking purchasing a single family property all cash at 110k that rents for $1100 a month. The last owner bought for 35k like 15 years ago 😩 but hoping buying and holding for a few years will give a equal or greater returns over the long run.

Hi Fishes/Seniors,
This will be the first time I will be in tax slab.
I have few queries can anyone please help me regarding this.
In ELSS mutual the total we can save save tax is 1.5lakh. Do we need to invest yearly 1.5 lakh yearly to save tax? I am planning to have a Sip of 5000 monthly for 3 years. So total money invested in 3 years will be around 60000 * 3 = 180000.
Will that be sufficient to save tax or Do I need to have a sip of 12000 per month to save tax.

Hey fishes, can someone tell me how the 80c bracket works, i know i can get exempt upto 1.5lakh under it, what i wanna know is does PF comes under it or not? For example if my yearly pf deduction is 20k and VPF is 10k so now will i still be able to show investment of 1.5lakh under 80c apart from PF and VPF or i'll be able to get exemption on only 1.2 lakh( 1.5lakh-30k= 1.2lakh)?

Thank you in advance!!
