Does anyone else feel like people who are generally nice in person and on calls sound mean or stand-offish in emails and text/chat? I get that over-use of friendliness in text can come off as green/immature, but I tend to try and cushion my words with positivity or even exclamation marks/the occasional emoji to show that I don't sound completely unemotional.

Or maybe i'm just an overthinking copywriter who's reading into it too much.

Working at a company and they can’t seem to hold on to their female, black and people of color employees. I blinked and 3 of the people who were in my onboarding class were either fired or they left. For context I’ve been in company less than a year and there are people who have been in the company 25yrs. I’m thinking of cutting loose before it gets to my turn.

There’s no reason you have to put up with a job you hate. I spent many years working in a toxic environment with a boss who gossiped and lead through fear. He wasn’t really much of a leader but basically a foreman. And he could make my existence miserable. I admit that it wasn’t easy to find another job but the bottom line is: trust your guts. If you feel something is wrong it’s because it probably is. Don’t second guess yourself. Look for options and and fight for your mental health.

I am about to leave my current organization and I have several thousand in outstanding commission owed to me. It is a start up, so I have little faith in their fulfillment if I am not there to hold them responsible. My contract says I must be paid it within 6 months of separation. So something crazy happened to me last week. I was at the airport, and as usual on call after call. The check in line was going ridiculously slowly and at some point turned threw my hands up in frustration while looking around to find another place to check in.
