Hello Everyone,
I am a fresher with over 9+ months of experience as a Data Engineer at Tata Consultancy .
I just needed some suggestions from you experienced folks.🙏
In my current project my colleagues have over 6+ years of experience and are not very supportive and scold me for unnecessary reasons, which is effecting my mental health.😔
Also I am not getting to learn anything.

McKinsey & Company How likely is McKinsey to rescind an offer if there's a recession/downturn before my start date? Received an Associate offer with a start date early in the Fall. But I'm worried about the offer being rescinded due to the ongoing McK scandals/issues and a potential recession in the making (which may prompt them to freeze hiring and/or renege offers).
Has this happened to anyone before at McKinsey, offer getting rescinded due to economic/company downturn? A bit worried

Woman (and mom) here and think it is acceptable given the disruptions of daily life present in calls all the time now. Maybe “unprofessional” but so is your kid running around in the background interrupting you and I don’t think people would be so quick to say turn the camera off. I’ve done a few calls on video with my toddler sitting in my lap and would do the same if I were breastfeeding right now.
As a woman, I think it’s unprofessional with the camera on—just as I would find it unprofessional if a colleague were eating on camera during a call. If you need to feed your child or eat during a call, turn the damn camera off.
Female here, but that’s a big no. Would a woman seriously sit in the middle of an in-person meeting in a conference room and breastfeed their baby? It’s unprofessional. Just turn the camera off
Exactly just turn the camera off. If anyone asks she could tell them she was breast feeding.
Women have recently been instructed that they will have to pump without leaving the bar examination in several states. So I think if pumping in a room filled with people taking an exam that will determine whether or not they have a cartons not considered distracting or unprofessional- then a zoom call should be okay too.
Yes I don’t understand what’s the big deal on turning the camera off. Like why did it half to be on? I’m a woman and don’t want to see another woman’s titts, breastfeeding or not
Passive aggressive behavior.
Why not tell the team that you can’t be on webcam? Seems pretty weird and distracting to me
As a woman who plans on breastfeeding when kiddo pops out in 6 months, I have no intention of covering up in public to feed my kid- but that doesn’t mean that I’m about to breastfeed on a business video call. I’m going to deal with it the same way I dealt with morning sickness during calls. Video off. Just because it’s natural and part of the process doesn’t mean everyone I work with needs to be involved.
Are you 5?
It’s fine. Dad here. Grow up. Life is different bow
To be clear, no that’s not okay. I am a woman and I find it unacceptable. Quite frankly, that’s why the “no video” feature should be used
Way to be anti feminist and not support your own gender. All of you must be a delight to be around.
Reminds me of Creed in the office
do people eat during zoom meetings? if so, not weird. assume that she didn’t have much of a choice in the situation and did what she needed to do.
I agree with all the people who say turn the camera off but maybe there was a reason she left it on. Does she need to visually remind her team of her situation? Maybe unrealistic expectations are being placed on her and she wanted to remind the team of her reality right now. Has she been shamed for turning off her camera? (I have before). I just wonder if there's more to it than she didn't think to turn it off.
dont share video...is it really that hard? one can not multi task btw. google
This thread depresses me, and poignantly symbolises why the consulting industry can be so terrible for women. Baby’s gotta eat. Get over it people. I’m impressed mums with small babies are even managing to juggle their high pressure consulting jobs in the crazy disruption of this COVID world. Couldn’t we have spent the thread celebrating that instead?
Nice paragraph you got there, but it’s as easy as turning off the camera. This isn’t about empowering women, it’s clearly about looking for attention.
“Can I show my boobs on camera even though there’s a specific function on all video chats meant for moments of privacy?”
Fuck outta here with that shit.
I still don’t understand why you can’t say to the organizer of the meeting “I am turning the camera off as I need to nurse.”
Kept on point and wrapped up quick, you say? About dang time. Ladies, we have a strategy!
I would have at least covered up if the camera absolutely had to be on for whatever reason.
Agree

It’s acceptable but why not just turn the cam off??
I do it. 🤷🏽♀️ baby’s got to eat. I just tilt the camera up so that only my face shows
I am not against public breast feeding but I feel like during a meeting that would be unprofessional and can be avoided. If the child is hungry and it’s meal time, just turn webcam off and to breastfeed. (Either announce voluntarily the reason or wait until asked why webcam is off to give reason. Either way not a crime to breastfeed but if you can avoid during a professional setting it’s better to...)
