Do you have friends and family you can share your mental health struggles/journey with? Or do you mostly keep it private/with your therapist?

I have bipolar. I have shared that I have the condition with close family but not friends and definitely nobody I work with. I go to therapy so that I don’t feel compelled to burden my family or others with these things. My dad happened to come over unexpectedly when I was in a mixed episode and that was uncomfortable since I was a hot mess. Not sure that this is the best approach, but I have a great therapist and this works for me. Stigma is too big a risk for me to broaden the circle of those I choose to share my struggles with

Yeah I have found unfortunately that it’s not something you can really share with friends, at least not in a detailed or consistent manner because they will drop you as a friend. That doesn’t necessarily mean friends or family are bad people I think some people just don’t understand mental health struggles and how bad they can be sometimes. So they get overwhelmed and feel they need to avoid or distance themselves.

I would definitely suggest sharing with a therapist and maybe family too if there are any open minded/kinder family you have

Work full time but have a passion to break into financial services <on the side for now> to gain exposure, mentorship and skills. Not sure how to do that. Not for me as I my priority right now is mentorship and learning. Currently life licensed and studying for SIE. Any recommendations?

Fellow fishes , How much would my In hand salary per month be (excluding variable pay) according to the given breakup post taxes and 12% employee PF. And on yearly 100% variable pay out how much would I be taxed?

And could someone help me plan better tax savings ? I can claim max 1L as HRA , no home loan is possible , single parent so 25K insurance premium is what I can think of. What else can I do to minimize my tax liability and increase my inhand.

I went to a psychologist and answered an ADHD questionnaire, basically scoring the highest possible score for ADHD. Long story short: the psych told me that since I made it through law school with a decent/good GPA l don’t have ADHD.

Has anyone been told this? I.e., that since you’re a “professional” and have had good grades you don’t have ADHD? I just feel it’s a bit unfair since I had to work myself to the bone just to stay focused and understand the material.

For those who work 100% remote with their company, what health insurance provider does your company offer? (ie. UHC, Aetna, BCBS, etc)

Best way to deal with family members who treat you like the family therapist? Over thanksgiving my aunt disclosed some intense stuff to me and asked me for my help/opinion, and it was uncomfortable. I don't feel good saying just don't talk to me about stuff like that, but I also am not paid to give therapy to my own family and the things they tell me put me in weird situations with other family members. Help!
