Does anyone have any experience leaving corporate accounting to pursue another field that’s accounting-adjacent? The long monthly/quarterly close cycles, the slow promotional track, and monotony of this kind of work has gotten me thinking if there is anything outside of corporate accounting or tax that I can explore. I’d still like to use my CPA and CMA in another field but one that’s a bit more dynamic and/or value-add. Any thoughts?

Public accounting in an advisory role. I'm in accounting advisory and it's definitely dynamic and the clients appreciate what we do.

Probably not. Depends on your background in technical accounting, project management, client relationship, and mentorship.

Hi, where or what types of companies should sophomores & juniors apply for next summer (2022) to recruit for IB the following summer (2023)? This summer BBs wrapped up SA IB recruitment, EBs even earlier, and a fair amount of my friends missed out big time.

Also, if a sophomore or junior doesn’t get a finance-related summer internship (I.e tech) and aims for an IB SA or FT position, is it harder to break in?

Appreciate any advice and insight, thank you.
