Leaving school as early as you’re comfortable with, and I don’t take school work home. All my papers I need graded stay at school unless absolutely necessary
I don't bring work home, ever during the week. Maybe once a month I will work on something for school on a Saturday. When I'm home, I vent about my day to get it out, but we don't talk about that afterwards.
Yeah, it really does make a difference. If you don't take many sick days, you might use one to catch up on sleep. Insomnia is a type of illness.
Have you tried meditation? It might help relax your mind
I’m a Reading Specialist in a Middle School and almost every day, one of the first things I do when I get home is to meditate. I purposely make time for this because it calms me down and puts things in perspective.
I totally recommend leaving at your contact time. Staying late doesn’t make you a good teacher and leaving on time doesn’t make you a bad teacher despite what a lot of teachers seem to say or if they give you a side eye look. Your peace of mind is essential to your ability to be a good teacher and this is one thing that has helped me. I refuse to feel guilty about making myself a priority.😊
I took a stress class that also covered the importance of sleep. Getting a good night sleep means I’m fully charged. Make sleep a priority.
I have my phone set to go black & white, soundless at 10 PM. My Do-not-disturb is enabled also. I have a time-out on Facebook (no more than an hour daily) No caffeine after 4 (should probably be 3, but, alas, I am an addict!)
Curious...what do you mean by your phone going black & white?
