I have recently joined EY SaT group as senior consultant recently in Netherlands. I’m tripple masters in MS economics, MBA and MS business analytics. Have 4 YOE in different industries but no M&A experience specifically. Any ideas what company should be offering me? I’ll be working as expert on commercial due diligence, FDD and valuation teams and doing automation alongside. is it wise to demand higher salary or promotion soon after I have proven that I can work and do it better than most?EY

Yep, find your own circle. Don’t let people gaslight you “oh you could reach out” “oh it was an accident” no, they don’t think of you… so why think of them? I’ve been there and found my own group and made great bonds
Lol the friendship crisis of MBA programs. Been there done that. They're not your friends.
Everyone thinks that other people have more friends than they do. It’s normal to an extent / a psychological bias
Have been where you are...my advice is to classify these people as such; they're convenience friends. Let them be and try not to get too hung up on it. Surround yourself with people who value you and focus on them. Also stay true to yourself and your goals.
My class did/still does the same thing. “Friendsgiving” started out with an invite to everyone in our class and now it’s the same clique every year. No effort whatsoever to be inclusionary and I’m glad I moved on, they won’t even say hi at the bar like we never spent 2 years in the same classes.
Yep, or when you see they are in town and don’t alert you but somehow alerted others. We don’t all have to be friends it’s good.
My advise is being vocal or proactive about it. Either tell people you would like to hang out or you organize the events
Ah yes, the “why don’t you want to hangout with me approach?” Works every time.
My closest friends in life are the ones I made in business school. They were 25% of me wedding
Everyone goes through this BS. Shake it off. Move on. Keep them as “contacts” or “connections” and remember you can help them and hopefully they will help you in your career but aren’t the friends you will call for crisis or great news. That’s all.
When we graduated, I was still friends with a good handful of my classmates. Even traveled with a bunch. As time went on I'm now in touch with just a couple, and only 1 do I speak to and see on a regular basis. Friends drift. Life happens.
I found that most people I connected with during the program were networking connections. A few became good friends.
Reaching out to classmates more often helps, and you learn more about how well you get along. Be the first to invite someone that you jive with and you’ll find your people. 😊
