Ageism in hiring, especially against women, is absolutely a thing. There is no reason for a prospective employer to know your age, the date you graduated high school, or the date you graduated college. I would say it's fine to list the most recent experiences (maybe 2000 to present) you have and omit some of the early ones. I rarely see job postings require over 10 years of experience, let alone 20/30/40+.
I'm 44, started working in the field since 2000 when I was still in college. started job hunting recently , but only went back to 2003 -- could have added 3 more law firm jobs. even took my college grad year off.
I think I took my oldest legal job off my resume for this reason
Agreed however it does say a lot that I have so many years of experience. 58 is not old.
I turn 40 this year. On my resume, I only have from 2008 to present.
