Have several 1:1s scheduled tomorrow with a manager and some peers at a new job (industry). Trying to not be too nervous & I already wrote out questions I want to ask to get to know them better & their jobs better. But I’m still freaking out a little. I want them to like me and for us to get along. Tips to calm down?

1) tell them at the beginning of the meeting what you want to talk to them. For example, hi I want to take this time to discuss about the job, work life balance and know my team members a little bit more. 2) start with a few questions asking them so that they start sharing and you are not talking. Usually people are nervous in the beginning but since you let the other person speak that will give you some time to calm your nerves and then handle the conversation. 3) have few personal topics ready on you mind to share with others - your interests, hobbies, covid stories etc., 4) try not to keep things serious in the beginning. Start with easier topics - like how is working form home during covid etc and then jump to work stuff
