Hello im in a dilemma here and im feeling 50/50 about it.

I left my sales job ( car sales) to pursue a better balance and career growth and i landed on this job that is construction sales, but when I went in to the interview they switched me over to work as a field worker since I have no experience in that sort of construction work. They did tell me that within a year or two I can be switched back into sales and earn pure commission from there.

Is this a put together or an opportunity?

What are actionable items one should strive for when trying to grow as a designer after landing their first role? I hear a lot about ways to grow to land the first job but very little about how to improve after you know the basics.

How long does it takes for you to feel confident on what you are doing at FDD? Essentially I am not trying to stay at FDD forever but want to make sure that I learn all the necessary skills before I go.

Weighing whether another year of IB experience would be helpful, or would just make me one year older at the same starting point in PE.

Anyone here know what an FPX certification is? Curious, a few roles at J&J have a requirement for it but I can't find anything online.

Currently a staff in audit - 6 months in. Glad to be learning a lot, and have had a generally positive experience at the firm other than a few interactions, some tough busy season nights. Really been intrigued by TAS/M&A, however, and had a few convos with a senior in TAS i know at the firm. It’s closer to what I studied, but don’t know how to make the jump as it seems an internal transfer could take 6+months/senior rank and a lot of convincing. I left my job about a year ago to relocate, make sure it was the right decision and start a side business in the mean time. Now I’m actively looking for a new sales position, have tons of experience, but am struggling to even get a response from job apps. I am wondering if this is because of my employment gap?
