Hi, I would say communication is probably my best strength and a great way to improve it is to simply practice having conversations when you're alone.
Don't mumble or mutter to yourself, have a full blown conversation out loud and it can be about anything, just do your best to sound confident and don't use words like umm or uh, if you need to think about what to say, just take a pause and take a few seconds to gather your thoughts. This is the easiest way to sound better when speaking.
Another thing to keep in mind is smiling and making eye contact when speaking, it makes you seem more cheerful and connected, which usually improves the flow of the conversation.
Make sure your volume is at an appropriate level and that you're not being too quiet, you want people to hear what you're saying.
Your boss has years and years of experience speaking to others in private and public forums so to get to their level of communication is just going to take time.
So just make sure you sound confident, are making eye contact, have good volume, don't stumble too much on your words, pause instead of staying uhhh, enunciate your words well so that people can understand you, and know what you're talking about so that you sound more confident about what you're speaking about so that people are inclined to listen to you.
All of these require practice, but I'm sure if you put in some effort you'll be able to crush it!
One last thing, if you have a favorite actor or someone like your boss who you think has good communication skills, try to mimic their tone and cadence. It can really help a lot, when I was in high school and watching White Collar, I thought Neil Caffery was the coolest dude and I wanted to have that type of charm and ability to talk to people, so I studied how he spoke and behave and mimicked my behavior after his and now things are going way better than they used to be.
Good luck on your journey mate!
I like this. Thank you!
What aspects of your boss’ verbal communications do you wish to emulate? Knowing your audience, what they will care about, and how you can succinctly deliver the message will all help. And pausing and checking in with your audience to make sure they are following also helps. One trick I learned early in my career is that when facilitating a room, it’s good to have a bottle of water handy. When you need to pause either to collect your thoughts or to think through a problem, you stop and take a sip of water and that brief break in flow is often times enough to get you back on the front foot.

Is it speaking or is it communication. Two different things.
Speaking is grabbing attention. Speaking words with annunciation and clarity. Voice projection etc
Communication is clarity of message. Do you have the right message. Are you choosing the right verbs and words. Is your message precise and concise. To me this is where most people fail. They are too broad or too narrow in a response to a question. Or they make generalizations. Or they don’t capture the essence of the question posed.
Tell your boss it’s a skill you’re trying to build/improve and ask for real time feedback when they have a chance to observe you
